Abstract: Disclosed are bis-benzotriazolylphenol compounds having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each is a 2-benzotriazolyl radical;R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each is hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl, alkoxy, aryl, carboxy, alkoxycarbonyl or halogen; andA is 1,3- or 1,4-phenylene.Also disclosed ae synthetic polymeric materials stabilized with one of the above compounds.

Abstract: The invention relates to thermoplastic molding compositions based on vinyl chloride polymers and containing, as stabilizer, 0.1 to 5% by weight of an aminouracil of the formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 hydroxyalkyl, hydroxyphenyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 alkoxyalkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 alkylthioalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 cycloalkoxyalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 cycloalkylthioalkyl, C.sub.8 -C.sub.14 aralkoxyalkyl, C.sub.8 -C.sub.14 aralkylthioalkyl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.14 aryloxyalkyl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.14 arylthioalkyl, --NHR.sup.4, in which R.sup.4 is hydrogen, phenyl or chlorine-substituted phenyl, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, each independently of the other, are C.sub.2 -C.sub.21 alkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.12 aryl or C.sub.7 -C.sub.19 aralkyl, while one of R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may also be hydrogen.The addition of such aminouracils gives vinyl chloride polymers which are very well protected against heat-induced degradation.

Abstract: Alpha-cyanocinnamate ultraviolet-absorbing stabilizers of the formula ##STR1## Where T is alkyl of 4 to 14 carbon atoms, and R.sub.4 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, are particularly resistant to loss during weathring of outdoor thermoset or thermoplastic coating systems while exhibiting good stabilization efficacy and compatibility in said systems.
