Abstract: The invention contemplates a unitary cable-clamp fitting adapted for equipment or other connection to an overhead-suspension cable or messenger wire. The fitting comprises two side panels integrally connected by a single bend establishing an initially acute angle between the side panels. In a preferred form, the outer edge of each panel is characterized by an elongate flange bent inward and generally toward the opposite side panel, and the initial space between flanges is slightly less than the cable diameter to be accommodated, so that cable assembly and loose retention are achieved via snap-action insertion between the flanges. A nut and bolt, loosely engaged via aligned openings in the panels, is tightened to set the clamp to the cable. Bracket hardware having a mounting opening may be clamped with the same nut and bolt, and the bolt itself may be formed for simple accessory or guy-wire connection.

Abstract: A safety belt buckle fitted with belt straps and two interlocking parts. These are designed for releasably connecting the belt strap. One interlocking part consists of a locked part and the other interlocking part consists of a locking part. The latter is fitted with a locking member pivoted in the locking part and able to be reset between the position releasing and the position locking the locked part. The locking member is spring loaded so as to attempt to pivot to its releasing position. A detent member is able to be reset between a detent position in which the locking member is prevented from being reset from its locking position and a releasing position in which the locking member is permitted to pivot to its releasing position. An ejector is arranged so as to eject the locked part by the action of a spring when the locking member is rest to the locking position. A link connects the detent member to the ejector. The link is loaded by a spring which attempts to move the ejector to its outer position.

Abstract: A portable safe adapted to be disposed and locked within a housing located at a work station receives currency deposited directly into the safe without exposing the contents of the safe. The safe includes a currency transfer tray movable into and out of the container and a pivoting wiper element for sweeping or wiping the tray to discharge currency from the tray into the safe. The tray serves to block the opening through which currency is passed into the safe.

Abstract: Animal food dispensing apparatus is provided which includes a tray with a plurality of food receptacles therein, upper openings generally similar in configuration, and a cover positioned over the tray with an aperture generally like the receptacle openings in configuration and size. The cover is movable among a plurality of successive positions in each of which the cover aperture is in general registration with a receptacle opening, the cover being indexed among these positions by indexing apparatus. Apparatus is provided for selective delivery of liquid to the receptacles.

Abstract: The hydraulic device comprises a pumping element which, through a selector assembly, is caused to communicate with one or more driving members provided on a boot and wherewith there is connected a respective hook element for effecting the fastening of the boot, the selector assembly being adapted to allow the releasing of one or all the fastening elements by connecting the respective driving members to a reservoir of a selected working fluid.

Abstract: An animal activity housing and monitor includes several vertically displaced levels of animal cages 32 which are angularly disposed about a core 28. The core is mounted for rotation relative to the animal cages and for fiberoptic communication with the cages. The fiberoptic filaments provide for at least one light beam to be sequentially transmitted across the cages within each level for detecting animal position. Surrounding the central core are animal activity stations 36 which may be used for animal weighing, feeding, or experimentation. The cage support structure 24 is mounted for rotational positioning so that cages may be positioned at animal activity stations 36.

Abstract: An apparatus for rearing small animals comprises a main structure having rearing spaces disposed one above another and having respective inclined floors, and a nozzle unit is disposed alongside the main structure so as to undergo reciprocation along the same. The nozzle unit carries a plurality of nozzles for ejecting cleaning water toward the respective floors and onto filth scraping blades, which are secured to the nozzle unit and are slidable on the floors, to wash away filth scraped off the floors by the scraping blades, whereby the scraping and washing away of the filth are carried out concurrently. Thus cleaning of the floors is carried out automatically after initial adjustments have been made.

Abstract: An improved safe bolt mechanism characterized by: slide bolts coupled to an inner surface of the safe's door by an elongated channel member; guide bars intespaced with the slide bolts and guided by the channel member for movement perpendicular to the slide bolts; elongated, bent cam rods journaled within apertures provided in the slide bolts and connected at their ends to successive guide bars; and a lockable bolt actuating mechanism for moving the guide bars within the channel member and thus extending or retracting the slide bolts due to the interaction of the cam rods and the slide bolts. Each of the slide bolts is individually locked by the cam rods to make forced entry into the safe more difficult. Optional locking pins attached to the guide bars can engage transverse bores provided in the slide bolts to lock the individual slide bolts even more securely.

Abstract: A mailbox having a mail carrier door and an owner's door with a signal flag moveably mounted thereatop to indicate the presence or absence of mail therein. A mechanism within the mailbox has a pair of slidable members mounted to a downwardly extending bracket with a flag rod extending through each member and moveable thereby. A pair of springs urge the first member toward the mail carrier door and the second member against the owner's door. A pivotable extension mounted to the mail carrier door is engaged by the mechanism to prevent opening thereof until the owner's door is open allowing the second member to slide therethrough releasing the extension.

Abstract: A lockable slider includes a cylindrical plug rotatably mounted in a slider body and a locking member urged at its fore end by a spring member against a cam face of the cylindrical plug for pivotal movement about the one end in response to the rotation of the cylindrical plug, whereby a locking pawl disposed at the rear end of the locking member is brought into and out of locking engagement with a pair of coupling element rows of a slide fastener. The cam face includes a recessed central portion in which the fore end of the locking member is received with the slider in locked position, and a flat peripheral portion over which the fore end of the locking member lying across the recessed central portion is disposed with the slider in unlocked position. The cam face allows the cylindrical plug to be rotated bidirectionally for either locking or unlocking the slider.

Abstract: A cover grating for manure removal canals in stables is formed of elongated lower supports disposed in lateral spaced relation with elongated upper supports mounted on and extending transversely of the lower supports. The upper supports can be inserted downwardly into the lower supports in a direction extending transversely of the longitudinal directions of the upper and lower supports. Openings are formed in the lower supports extending transversely of their elongated direction. The upper supports have downwardly projecting longitudinally extending flanges supported on the lower supports. Further, downwardly extending pawl strips in the upper supports extend through the openings in the lower support and are lockably engaged with walls within the lower support. The walls within the lower support divide it into individual box-like chambers.

Abstract: Device for making comb honey includes sections arrangeable in a super. The section combines into a single unit a number of presently used separate components, namely the section perimeter, the foundation, spacing elements, the separator, the package, and a serving dish. A comb forming section is provided with the foundation at the bottom thereof and portions cooperating with an adjacent section to effect appropriate spacing of same. In one embodiment, the foundation is backed by a suitably sloped bottom wall for cooperation with an adjacently positioned section and projecting portions at the bottom of the section engage the top of the adjacent section to effect such spacing. In another embodiment, the foundation may lie flat and projecting portions at the top of one section engage the bottom of the adjacent section to effect such spacing. A cover removably fits over the top of a section to form a closed container for marketing.
