Abstract: The present invention provides a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) that may be employed to remotely manage a plurality of network elements. One feature of the GUI is a graphical representation of a series of state transition diagrams (STDs). The GUI displays each STD upon receiving a command from a technician. The STDs provide a unique window into the present state and possible future states of a specific network element. Furthermore, the GUI is configured to be fool-proof in that the technician may select from only relevant actions. That is, the GUI prevents accidental engagement of an action by having the technician select a command from a pull-down menu where the only commands the user may choose from are those that are relevant to the current state of the selected network element. For example, a network element that is currently in service would not have a restore command included in its pull-down menu.

In operation, the micro-monitor, accepts configuration variables for use to set monitoring thresholds, alarms, and display layout. Based on the configuration information, the micro-monitor will cooperate with the database environments which it is monitoring to obtain operational information for processing.
Abstract: In a method for intermediating images, user group information concerning at least one user group to which the user belongs is extracted from a user group table recording a relationship between the user and the user group based on the authentication information of a user. The user group information extracted is sent to the user and obtaining information of a selected user group selected by the user and an image corresponding to the selected user group selected by the user is extracted. Then, the image corresponding to the selected user group is sent to the user.
Abstract: Commands and data transferred via a network line NL are input to an ASP terminal portion 20 via a network interface controller 220. A first CPU loads a client application corresponding to the command and generated user interface image data via a graphics controller 210. A video signal conversion circuit 310 receives image data from the graphics controller 210 and transfers the processed image data to an LCD drive circuit 330. LCD drive circuit 330 drives an LCD 332 in response to the received image data to project the desired image data onto a projection screen.
Abstract: For easier access to a desired one of information objects for displaying by traversing links between them, an information processing apparatus includes holding means which holds content type specific intermediate data generating means and content type specific display image generating means both in an executable condition. The apparatus includes first means which causes the intermediate data generating means to generate intermediate data for displaying an information object in accordance with a geometric relation of the object to a visual field. The apparatus also includes second means which causes the display image generating means to generate a display image of the object from the intermediate data in accordance with the geometric relation of the object to the field. The intermediate data generating means and the display image generating means operate asynchronously with each other.

Abstract: A display interface system for computer controlled displays including a window in a display screen, for the display of visible data; a set of selectable items in the portion of said display screen; an implementation for varying the area of the display screen portion; and for varying the comprehensiveness level of the items in response to the varying area of the display screen portion. It is often the case that the area in a window needs to be reduced for any of a variety of purposes. In such a situation, the items in the menu are maintained at a high level of comprehensiveness, e.g. icon plus explanatory text, while its window area is greatest. Then, as the window area is reduced, the levels of comprehensiveness of the items in the menu or set are also reduced since the space can no longer accommodate them.
