    Abstract: An artificial fish lure includes a wire form line tie that includes a central upwardly arched portion connecting a downwardly extending leg portion or portions, and arm elements extending longitudinally from the bottom of the leg portions. The arch and leg portions of the wire form project through an elongated longitudinal slot in the top surface of the lure and the fishing line is secured to the upper closed end of the line tie. The slot in the line is tapered so that it is wider at the top than at the bottom, and the longitudinally extending arms are confined in a channel at the bottom of the slot so that the line tie can pivot laterally about the arms to enable the lure to pivot or rock from side to side as it is drawn through the water during retrieval. In one embodiment, the slot includes a forward edge that tends to hold the line tie like a detent in a centralized position when the fishing line initially pulls on the lure until the lure has dived beneath the surface of the water to a desired extent.

    Abstract: A floating decoy has a buoyant body and an anchor weight connected to the body by a cord. When deployed, the anchor weight holds the decoy in place on a body of water. A collapsible coiled cord is used to hold the anchor weight to the body. The cord has a normal, untensioned orientation providing a minimum cord length which is sufficiently short such that the cord does not have to be wound around the decoy body, or any portion thereof, when the weight is taken up.

    Abstract: A housing is provided with a fan directed through a forward wall of the housing in communication with a rear wall of the housing through a central connecting conduit, with the connecting conduit including a diverting conduit directed through a diverting funnel to project insect attractant through the forward wall of the housing. The housing includes a switch to effect operation of an associated fan to project flying insects through the fan killing said insects and directing the insects through a rear wall of the housing. A modification of the invention includes the fan blades removably mounted relative to the hub filled with a pesticide, wherein the pesticide is deposited about the housing wall opening to further effect killing of the flying insects directed through the forward wall of the housing.

    Abstract: This invention concerns a non-toxic method of exterminating dry wood termites, fleas, roaches, ants, weevils and the like by utilizing an inert freezing liquid such as liquid nitrogen as the killing agent. The liquid nitrogen is inserted so as to envelop the colony of objectionable organisms until the environment is reduced to a temperature of at least zero degrees Fahrenheit and maintained at that temperature for between 2 to 5 minutes. This method effectively kills the organisms by crystalizing the innards and freezing the cells, thereby eliminating the need for more dangerous and toxic poisons that are currently being used.

    Abstract: A fish line rudder facilitates carrying a fish line in current to either or both sides of a boat, or guiding the fish line laterally to current flow within a stream. The rudder includes an elongated body with opposed arcuate wing members. A central radial rudder plate extends axially along the body between the two wing members. The body includes an open central longitudinal bore that is slightly inclined upwardly from the front bore end toward the rear, to slidably receive the fish line therethrough. A line grip, on the rudder plate releasably secures a point along the fish line extending forwardly of the bore. The line extends forwardly from the grip to the fish pole and rearwardly through the body from the open front end and line grip, to a hook. When in the water, the device will react to resistance offered by the fish line, to move the fish line laterally across current, to locate the fish line according to the fisherman's desire.

    Abstract: An improved striking fishing rod holder for permanent installation on the cockpit gunnel or other location of a fishing boat is disclosed that enables hook-setting movement of the rod upon a fish strike of the bait trolled from the rod without removal of the rod from the holder. The new holders include a mounting plate assembly, a depending tubular member hinged to the plate assembly that swings from a troll position to a hit position and a detent assembly to releasably hold the tubular member alternatively in the troll or hit position. Advantageously, the holder also has an adjustment unit to vary the force required to override the detent assembly to release the tubular member for movement between its troll and hit positions. When a fish hits the bait being trolled from the rod held in the improved holder, movement of the rod in the new holder from the troll position to the hit position, alerts the fisherman that a fish strike has been made.
