  • Patent number: 11781401
Abstract: A method of installing a header pipe joint 1 at a subsea structure 5 is provided, comprising providing a header pipe joint 1 having at least one valve 2 installed therein and connecting the header pipe joint 1 inline of a spool 15 or pipeline 18 prior to lowering the header pipe joint 1 to the subsea structure 5. The header pipe joint 1 is then lowered to the subsea structure 5, and the valve 2 is connected to the subsea structure (e.g. a subsea production system of the subsea structure such as a xmas tree) with a connection bridge e.g. a choke bridge 14. This provides a fluidic connection between the subsea structure and the header pipe joint. The subsea structure 5 comprises a foundation, e.g. suction anchors 11, which provide support for both a wellhead and the header pipe joint. A subsea assembly comprising a subsea structure 5, header pipe joint 1 and connection bridge 14 is also provided.

  • Patent number: 11773561
Abstract: Provided is a combined suction anchor reinforced by a grouting spiral anchor, including a gravity suction anchor, an L-shaped skirt board and a spiral anchor. The gravity suction anchor includes a suction anchor top plate and a wall of a suction anchor barrel body and uses a concrete press block to reach an estimated set position faster during penetration due to self-weight thereof. Thereafter, the skirt board is lifted to outside of the suction anchor through a lug, and a fixing bolt is used to connect the skirt board to the suction anchor. The spiral anchor rod passes through a skirt board hole performed in the skirt board to penetrate into a deep site of seabed, and concrete is grouted through the skirt board hole to a seabed soil area loosened due to penetration of the spiral anchor rod, thereby forming a concrete reinforced area after the concrete solidifies.

  • Patent number: 11746488
Abstract: Flexible containment tubes form sections of a dike for fluid containment. For example, multiple vinyl-coated polyester tubes with a 19-inch diameter may be filled with water and stacked on top of each other to create a temporary diversion dike. Multiple sections of dike may be abutted together to form longer sections of dike. A vapor barrier or plastic membrane may wrap over dike sections and/or weaved through the flexible containment tubes as they are placed prior to filling. Configurations of the vapor barrier and associated anchoring mechanisms improve the utility of dike sections by reducing hydrostatic pressure of contained fluid on the dike, harnessing the weight of fluid columns, and mitigating seepage through the dike sections.

  • Patent number: 11725750
Abstract: A method of recovering a used pipeline from the seabed to the surface comprises attaching a recovery cap to the pipeline at the seabed to surround an end of the pipeline, and then upending at least an end portion of the pipeline underwater suspended beneath the recovery cap. While the upended pipeline is being lifted toward the surface, hydrocarbon contaminants rising buoyantly from the interior and walls of the pipeline are captured within the recovery cap, floating on water within and surrounding the pipeline. The captured contaminants are then conveyed from the recovery cap to a reservoir that is external to the recovery cap. The reservoir can be lifted toward the surface with the upended pipeline, for example, on a lifting line attached to the recovery cap. The reservoir can expand as it fills with contaminants and as hydrostatic pressure decreases, with gas from the contaminants being vented off.

  • Patent number: 11713554
Abstract: An apparatus for removable insertion into an excavated trench to protect a worker against collapse of the trench wall, which is often termed in industry as a trench shield or cage or box, comprises cross members interconnecting opposite sides of a protective peripheral wall that are in the form of rounded annuluses. Additional members are provided to interconnect adjacent pairs of annuli which are spaced one from the other in a height direction of the wall. This forms an interconnected internal frame of the apparatus which primarily provides compressive strength of the apparatus against collapsing of the trench wall instead of the protective wall so that the protective wall may be made to be lighter in terms of mass. Further, the protective peripheral wall forms a tube substantially fully enclosing a working area defined by the wall.
