  • Patent number: 7281727
Abstract: A motorcycle foot peg having a body portion adapted to bear the weight of a rider. The body portion will fold up about the mounting shaft, which is connected to the frame of the motorcycle by way of cradle mount brackets that sandwich the mounting shaft between engine and brackets. The mounting shaft support tabs with holes that correspond to the engine mounting threaded holes. The cradle mount brackets have corresponding holes to align with engine and mounting shaft tabs. The cradle mount brackets, mounting shaft and engine, will support the rider's weight on the foot peg load.

  • Patent number: 7228933
Abstract: In order to solve a problem of an electric power steering device of an automobile that the steering feeling is deteriorated by dragging the inactive electric motor if a steering member is operated at a small angle to leave an electric motor inactive while the automobile is running straight, the present invention provides a joint for jointing the rotary shaft of a steering assisting electric motor and a worm shaft of a reduction mechanism, comprising a first member rotating integrally with the rotary shaft; a second member rotating integrally with the worm shaft; and an elastic member for coupling the two members in a torque transmittable manner. The elastic member has a relatively small elastic modulus according to the state that the torsion angle between the first and second members is small. Accordingly, the structure and characteristics thereof lead to a better operationality of the steering member.

  • Patent number: 7225891
Abstract: In a control system for a train composed of a towing vehicle and a trailer, the towing vehicle is equipped with an electronically actuatable drive train. A trailer steering angle actual value sensor determines a trailer actual steering angle of a wheel axle which steers the trailer. The driver of the vehicle can input a trailer setpoint steering angle via a trailer steering angle setpoint value sensor. A reversing device is provided which determines, from the trailer actual steering angle and the trailer setpoint steering angle, a modified towing vehicle setpoint steering angle of a wheel axle which steers the towing vehicle. In the active state of the reversing device, the modified towing vehicle setpoint steering angle takes the place of the present towing vehicle setpoint steering angle in a modified movement vector; and when the train is moving, it changes the trailer actual steering angle into the trailer setpoint steering angle when the modified movement vector is processed.

  • Patent number: 7207411
Abstract: Steer unit for steer-by-wire comprising angle sensing means (12) for detecting the angular position of a steering wheel (11), processing means (10) connected to the angle sensing means (12) and connectable to a wheel position sensor (22), the wheel position sensor (22) being arranged for providing an output signal representing the position of steered wheels (20) of a vehicle. The processing means (10) are connectable to a steering actuator (21) mechanically coupled to the steered wheels (20), the processing means (10) being arranged for driving the steering actuator (21) dependent on the angular position of the steering wheel (11). The steer unit further comprises friction means (14) for providing a friction force on the steering wheel (11), the friction means (14) being connected to the processing means (10), and the processing means (10) being arranged for driving the friction means (14) in dependence of the wheel position sensor output signal.

  • Patent number: 7207588
Abstract: Children's ride-on vehicle assemblies having leading and trailing vehicles that are removably coupled together by a connection apparatus. The leading vehicle is an independently operable ride-on vehicle having a drive assembly that is selectively configured between a plurality of drive configurations, such as responsive to user inputs via user input devices. The assembly further includes a detection system adapted to detect whether or not the connection apparatus is in its coupled configuration and to restrict the plurality of drive configurations responsive thereto. This restriction may be automatic responsive to coupling of the leading and trailing vehicles together, and it may be made regardless of user inputs that otherwise would select and/or enable one of the restricted drive configurations.

  • Patent number: 7207585
Abstract: A motorcycle whose front end has a coil-over shock disposed within the head tube and telescopic forks which include linear bearings riding between flats on the outer face of the inner fork tubes and flats on the inner face of the outer fork tubes. The linear bearings ride on hardened steel races, enabling the fork tubes to be e.g. aluminum. Using an odd number of linear bearings in each fork prevents having two linear bearings at 180° opposition which would increase sensitivity to manufacturing tolerance stackups, preload, and the like.

  • Patent number: 7207587
Abstract: A gooseneck for connecting a tractor to a trailer. The gooseneck has a remotely controlled unit for operating the hydraulic and pneumatic systems that provide for moving a slidable king pin plate to different loading positions so as to balance the load for over-the-road transport. The gooseneck also has a pivotal rear end to assist in connection of the gooseneck to the trailer. A pivotal gooseneck stinger arm maintains the gooseneck in position for accurate placement during connection and disconnection of the gooseneck and trailer. All of the necessary movements for connecting and disconnecting the tractor and trailer can be accomplished remotely with a minimum of effort by the tractor trailer operator.
