  • Patent number: 6952212
Abstract: A preprocessing mechanism automatically processes a video sequence in order to obtain a set of views suitable for structure from motion (SaM) processing. The preprocessor employs a frame decimation algorithm which removes redundant frames within the video sequence based on motion estimation between frames and a sharpness measure. The motion estimation can be performed either globally or locally. The preprocessor can be configured to process static video sequences (i.e., previously acquired/captured) to select a minimal subsequence of sharp views form the video sequence, or to process the frames of a video sequence as they are being captured to discard frames which are redundant. In either configuration, the goal of the preprocessor is to select a minimal sequence of sharp views tailored for SaM processing.

  • Patent number: 6236463
Abstract: A system and method are provided which have the ability to print whole documents at a time, rather than page by page. The data for an entire multi-page document is fed directly to an output device, and then a print engine. The data stream includes a record layout including data field codes which tell the data system and/or raster image processor where to print strings of variable information in a document so that the strings only need be provided once even if printed in multiple places within the document. Data flows in the data stream to the print engine as the raster image processor functions in real time. The system has the capability to manipulate and transfer data at 10 Mbytes per second, which translate into a transfer rate of approximately 92,000 characters per second at up to 1,000 feet per minute print speeds, for up to six controllers.

  • Patent number: 5991514
Abstract: A method and apparatus for printing a hyperspacial document with multiple pages. Each of the pages is composed in a markup language, and a respective printing element is included in each of the pages. The printing element for a given page is either an indicator of which of the pages is to print after the given page or an indicator that there is no page that prints next. When the header portion of a given page is transferred, it is checked to determine whether it contains a printing element. If the printing element is present, then a command to print the multiple pages is activated. The pages are printed in the order specified by the printing elements.
