  • Patent number: 8108505
Abstract: In a method for controlling channel access in wireless communications, an admitted time value is calculated for each access category in a station. The admitted time value is a maximum amount of medium time the station can use in a time period. A used time value is calculated for each access category in the station. The used time value is an amount of medium time used by the station. A determination is made whether the used time value is less than the admitted time value. If the used time value is less than the admitted time value, a frame with enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) parameters is transmitted. If the used time value is not less than the admitted time value, a frame without the EDCA parameters is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 8103759
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for redirecting client messages between hosts within a messaging infrastructure. When a host receives a client message, it can refer to lock information in a shared database to determine if it is the correct host to receive the client message. The lock information includes a redirect endpoint. The redirect endpoint identifies an endpoint where client messages can be sent for delivery to the appropriate workflow instance. The redirect endpoint can be included in a redirect fault message, that is returned to a host when a host attempts to process a client message that is already locked to another workflow instance. Using the redirect endpoint, a host receiving a redirect fault message can use the redirect endpoint to send a client message to the correct host.

  • Patent number: 8086719
Abstract: In embodiments of bypassing uploading of data from a wireless device using outbound attachment caching, synchronization logic is implemented to determine whether an attachment of an electronic message to be sent from a wireless device is stored in a first memory of the wireless device or a second memory of the wireless device. The first memory can be configured to automatically replicate data stored in the first memory to a wireless data service. The electronic message can then be initiated for communication to the wireless data service without the attachment responsive to determining that the attachment is stored in the first memory. Alternately, the electronic message can be initiated for communication to the wireless data service without the attachment responsive to determining that the attachment is stored in the second memory and that the attachment was previously communicated to the wireless data service.

  • Patent number: 8060561
Abstract: A system and method for content distribution are provided. A content provider generates a network topology having one or more subnetworks made up of content sources. The content provider segments content, such as applications, into segments for distribution. The content provider then distributes the content such that for each identified subnetwork, each content segment is distributed to a content source. Subsequent, client computing device requests for content can be serviced by selecting a content source in a particular subnetwork selected for delivering the requested content to the client computing device to minimize traffic flow of the requested content through the nodes of the distribution network.
