Abstract: A clamping arrangement for an adjustable assembly includes a lever operatively coupled to the clamping arrangement for moving the assembly between a locked position and an unlocked position, an aperture extending from an inner face of the lever to an outer face of the lever. The clamping arrangement also includes an outer cam having an outer radial surface at least partially disposed within the aperture of the locking lever. The clamping arrangement further includes an inner cam engaged with the outer cam and adjustable assembly. The clamping arrangement yet further includes a rake bolt extending through the lever, the outer cam, the inner cam, and the adjustable assembly.

Abstract: Provided is an airbag configured so that, in the inflated state thereof, a recess is formed in a chest restraint area in the passenger facing surface of the airbag, and the portion of the airbag other than the recess has a large inflation thickness. A driver-side airbag 1 is formed by sewing a front panel 2 and a rear panel 3 together. The rear panel 3 is provided with a left tuck portion 12 which extends from the upper left to the lower left, and a right tuck portion 11 which extends from the upper right to the lower right. The tuck portions 11 and 12 increase the inflation thickness of the driver-side airbag 1. A recess 6 is formed in a passenger chest restraint area in the driver-side airbag 1 by a tether 20.
Abstract: A control valve provided in a communicating portion restricts the supply of gas from a front main chamber to a rear delay chamber during an initial stage of inflation and deployment of the front main chamber. The control valve releases restriction of the supply of the gas from the front main chamber to the rear delay chamber during the later stage of inflation and deployment of the front main chamber.

Abstract: Pillar release mechanisms and related airbag cushion assemblies. Some embodiments may comprise a curtain airbag assembly comprising an inflator and a curtain airbag cushion configured to be inflated with the inflator. The curtain airbag cushion may extend along an elongated axis and the curtain airbag assembly may be configured to be positioned within and deploy from a panel of a vehicle. The assembly may further comprise a release mechanism coupled with the curtain airbag cushion and configured to be coupled with the panel. The release mechanism may be configured to release the panel using an initial deployment force from the curtain airbag cushion, the initial deployment force being in a direction at least substantially parallel to the elongated axis.

Abstract: A vehicle occupant restraint system includes an occupant seat, three-point seatbelt device, and an airbag module mounted to the seat. The three-point seatbelt device has a webbing that is configured to, when the occupant is seated on the seat, extend from an upper side in a vicinity of the occupant's outboard shoulder to a lower side in a vicinity of an inboard side of the occupant's waist and obliquely across the occupant's upper body so as to restrain the upper body. The airbag module has an airbag cushion and an inflator for providing inflation gas for the airbag cushion. In a crash event the airbag cushion inflates and deploys from the seat in a vicinity of the occupant's inboard shoulder obliquely across the occupant's upper body, and in a fully deployed state the airbag cushion directly connects to the webbing extended across the occupant's upper body.
Abstract: An airbag apparatus with a cushion that expands and deploys from in front of a seat is provided. The cushion includes a front restraining part that restrains a head of a passenger from the front of a vehicle. The cushion further includes protrusion parts that are provided beside the front restraining part in the width direction of the vehicle and protrude and expand further towards the rear of the vehicle than the front restraining part. Inner tethers inside the cushion are connected to the front restraining part and to which tension is applied to pull the front restraining part towards the front of the vehicle. Outer tethers are connected to the protrusion parts and to which tension is applied to pull the protrusion parts towards the front of the vehicle. When tension is applied to the inner tethers, force towards the inner tethers is applied to the outer tethers.
Abstract: A steering shaft according to an aspect of the present invention includes an upper shaft, a lower shaft, and a seal cap. The seal cap includes a seal which comes into close contact with an inner peripheral surface of the upper shaft and a closure which bulges upward with respect to the seal. The closure is plastically deformed downward, and thus, the seal cap is held in an upper end opening portion in a state where the seal is pressed against the inner peripheral surface of the upper shaft.
Abstract: A restraint performance improvement portion of a curtain airbag device for a vehicle is provided at a location of a lower end portion of a curtain airbag which location corresponds with a vehicle seat when the vehicle seat is in a comfortable state. The restraint performance improvement portion inhibits a head area of a vehicle occupant from slipping past the curtain airbag to a vehicle width direction outer side thereof when the vehicle occupant is being restrained.

The axle limb includes a first steering axle which provides a first steering angle in a specified range for the wheel, and components for connecting the axle limb to a support structure. At least one of the components includes a second steering axle which provides a second steering angle which is different than the first steering angle provided by the first steering axle. The second steering axle is selectively releasable. The components for connecting the axle limb to the support structure form a double transverse link axle which includes an upper traverse link and a lower traverse link. A support tube is arranged at a chassis-side end portion of each of the upper traverse link and the lower traverse link of the double transverse link axle. The support tube is pivotable about the second steering axle.

Abstract: A passenger protection apparatus for a vehicle includes a first airbag configured to deploy from a front part of the vehicle toward a passenger, a second airbag provided under the first airbag and configured to deploy toward the passenger, and a collision type detector configured to detect a collision or collision possibility of the vehicle and detect a collision type. The collision type detector detects a first type of collision and a second type of collision. The second airbag deploys in a first deployment configuration when the first type of collision is detected, and deploys in a second deployment configuration when the second type of collision is detected. The second airbag deployed in the second deployment configuration contacts an in-vehicle component provided in a vehicle compartment, and the second airbag in contact with the in-vehicle component guides the first airbag in a direction in which the collision load is applied.
Abstract: An airbag having an exhaust hole and an opening/closing control device configured to control opening and closing of the exhaust hole are provided.
