  • Patent number: 10043383
Abstract: An infrared (IR) emission and reception circuit, which is composed of three parts, an IR transceiver circuit, a carrier-smoothed circuit, and a signal recognition circuit. The IR transceiver circuit receives an outside IR signal, converts it to an electrical signal, and then amplifies and shapes the electrical signal to form a carrier frequency read signal; the IR transceiver circuit also emits an IR signal outward. The carrier-smoothed circuit receives the carrier frequency read signal, filters out the carrier to form a carrier-smoothed signal, and outputs it to the signal recognition circuit. The signal recognition circuit receives the carrier-smoothed signal, and converts it to an IR recognition signal to output to the electronic-device processor. The electronic-device processor receives the carrier frequency read signal to recognize the carrier frequency of the outside IR signal, and also receives the IR recognition signal to learn IR control codes of the outside IR signal.

  • Patent number: 10008062
Abstract: A long-range power-efficient multiple-band identification system and method includes, for example, a base-station control module and paired electronic key fob. The base-station control module and paired electronic key fob is arranged to provide a UHF (ultra-high frequency) wake transmitter for transmitting a wakeup signal in a UHF frequency range to the paired electronic key. When in range, the electronic key is awakened by the wakeup signal and in response transmits an acknowledgment reply to the base-station control module. After receiving the acknowledgment, the base-station control module transmits a relatively high power localization signal for determining an electronic key location.

  • Patent number: 10002394
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing notifications regarding issues with nearby vehicles. A roadside reporter receives notifications from individuals or computing devices reporting problems or violations associated with nearby vehicles, and the notification for uniqueness and authenticity. Upon determining that the notification is unique and authentic, the roadside reporter system notifies the driver of the nearby vehicle and other relevant parties about the problem or violation. The roadside reporter may issue rewards to the reporting user. The roadside reporter system further allows the driver of the nearby vehicle to respond to the notification, and subsequently provides the driver with incentives to address the problem or violation.

  • Patent number: 9990825
Abstract: A fire detection and suppression system correcting fire detection based on wind. Wind may affect both the apparent position of the fire detected by the fire detectors and also the suppressant jet being delivered by a monitor. Typically wind results in shifting of estimated fire location away from the real fire in the direction of wind. Similarly, the suppressant jet will also be diverted in the same direction. The system comprises fire detectors for acquiring two-dimensional fire location information for a fire. A wind sensor acquires wind information, often in region of the fire. A system controller then compensates the three-dimensional fire location information based on the wind information. Additionally, the position of fog/jet monitors is preferably compensated based on the wind information. The jet pressure setting is also ideally determined based on the wind.
