  • Patent number: 11660705
Abstract: A laser welding method is provided to ensure a sufficient joining strength between metal plates by increasing the area of a joining region while preventing “burn through” of a molten metal. In the laser welding method by applying a laser beam to a surface of multiple metal plates superimposed on each other, a scanning locus with the laser beam is sequentially shifted from an inner circular scanning locus to an outer one in a predetermined joining region on the metal plates, and an emission interval is provided to temporally stop the metal-plate-surface irradiation when the scanning locus is shifted. Thus, every time the scanning locus is shifted, the molten metal due to the previous irradiation is cooled and increases its viscosity. Accordingly, the “burn through” is prevented regardless of increase of the area of the joining region, which results in a sufficient joining strength between the metal plates.

  • Patent number: 11602019
Abstract: A cartridge for an aerosol-generating system includes a sensor including a capacitor with a first capacitor plate and a second capacitor plate, a storage portion for storing an aerosol-forming substrate, and a vaporizer. The storage portion is between the first capacitor plate and the second capacitor plate. The permittivity of the liquid storage portion changes upon a change of the volume f the liquid aerosol-forming substrate held in the liquid storage portion. The sensor is configured to measure the capacitance of the capacitor. The measured capacitance relates to a corresponding permittivity of the aerosol-forming substrate held in the storage portion so that the amount of the volume of the aerosol-forming substrate held in the storage portion is determinable from the measured capacitance.

  • Patent number: 11565344
Abstract: A machine learning device for learning a focal position offset of a laser processing apparatus. A data acquisition section acquires a learning dataset which includes data of a focal position command for a light-focusing optical system given to the laser processing apparatus and detection data of a physical quantity of light detected when a laser beam is emitted from a laser oscillator in accordance with a processing command including the focal position command. A learning section generates a learning model by using the learning dataset, which represents correlativity between the physical quantity of the detected light and the positional relationship of an effective light-focusing position of the light-focusing optical system relative to a workpiece. When performing processing, the physical quantity of light is detected so that a positional relationship between the workpiece and the effective light-focusing position during processing can be estimated from the detected quantity and the learning model.
