    Abstract: A back-light device and a liquid crystal display in which light from light sources is guided to a light-guiding plate efficiently and heat of the light sources is dissipated efficiently. The back-light device of the liquid crystal panel has a front frame and a rear frame. There are provided four optical sheets, a light-guiding plate, a flexible PCB, two light sources, and a reflecting sheet between the front frame and the rear frame. The flexible PCB has a PCB part and two erected parts. A resistor and a thermistor as electronic parts and two light sources are installed on the PCB part in the vicinity of the erected parts. A light-radiating surface of the light source is pressed to an incident surface of the light-guiding plate by the erected part.

    Abstract: A light module comprises a light unit, a heat transferring plate or a plurality of heat transferring pipes, and a plurality of heat dissipating fins. The heat transferring plate or heat transferring pipes are positioned on the bottom surface of the light unit to transfer heat generated by the light unit. When the heat transferring plate is used, the heat dissipating fins are arranged under the heat transferring plate and perpendicular to the bottom surface of the heat transferring plate. The heat dissipating fins have a recess for the accommodation of the heat transferring plate and the light unit. When the heat transferring pipes are used, the heat dissipating fins each contact the heat transferring pipes. Uniform heat dissipation is thus attained.

For a short duration, all lighting elements flash in a flashing pattern for a pre-determined period. For a long duration, only one lighting element lights up and continues for a few seconds after the switch is opened.

    Abstract: An under-cabinet lighting fixture includes xenon bulbs and/or halogen bulbs of less than about 35 watts contained within a housing that is devoid of any dedicated heat dissipation back vents on the back or top of the lighting unit. A top cover is connected to a wire-containing channel of the unit, with such cover being removable during wiring and mounting operations by removing screws locking the cover into place. The unit is further devoid of any dedicated reflectors and instead relies upon the reflective coating applied to the interior of the housing unit itself, which acts as a mirrored surface to reflect the bulb's illumination. A single glass lens is supported by a metal frame that runs around the periphery of such lens and the lens cover itself is connected to the housing by pivoting hinges and is snap locked into place by flexible metal/plastic elements that are configured to lock into apertures within the housing.
