  • Patent number: 10877572
Abstract: Mechanical micro-switches, such as the power button, and the volume up and down buttons, in the sidewalls of a smart device's frame remain the weak points in terms of reliability. To overcome this shortcoming a transducer, such as a piezoelectric transducer is placed against the sidewall, and at least one micro-slit is configured in the sidewall forming a flap deflectable into the frame. The micro-slits and the flap enable a displacement in a portion of the sidewall in an otherwise very stiff frame that is large enough to be detected by the transducer when a force is applied by the user and a displacement large enough to be sensed by the user, but not too large so as to risk damage of the transducer or other electronic components inside the frame.

  • Patent number: 10879852
Abstract: A power management circuit and related radio frequency (RF) front-end circuit are provided. In examples discussed herein, a power management circuit can be incorporated into an RF front-end circuit to support RF beamforming in millimeter wave spectrum(s). In this regard, the power management circuit is configured to generate multiple output voltages to drive multiple power amplifier subarrays in the RF front-end circuit. More specifically, the power management circuit is configured to generate the output voltages based on a voltage scaling factor(s) such that each of the output voltages corresponds proportionally to a battery voltage received by the power management circuit. As such, the output voltages can be dynamically controlled based on the voltage scaling factor(s) to maximize operating efficiency of the power amplifier subarrays. As a result, it is possible to reduce heat dissipation of the power amplifier subarrays and improve overall thermal performance of the RF front-end circuit.

  • Patent number: 10819378
Abstract: A transmitter circuit includes first and second carrier signal generators for generating corresponding first and second digital carrier signals, each having the same frequency. Modulation circuitry determines a phase shift value based on a received modulation signal. Outphasing circuitry generates a first digital output signal by adding the phase shift value to the phase of the first digital carrier signal and generates a second digital output signal by subtracting the phase shift value from the phase of the second digital carrier signal. A first switched-capacitor digital-to-analog converter (DAC) receives the first digital output signal and generates a first analog antenna output signal. A second switched-capacitor DAC receives the second digital output signal and generates a second analog antenna output signal. The sampling phases of the first and second DACs are opposite one another, whereby the first and second analog antenna output signals form a time-interleaved antenna output signal.

  • Patent number: 10812664
Abstract: A power transmission system includes a voltage measurement device located on a tower or rooftop for measuring a voltage (VRRH) at a top end of a DC cable connected to a remote radio head (RRH). A voltage control system receives an input voltage (VIN) from a DC power supply and generates an output voltage (VOUT) at a base end of the DC cable. The voltage control system calculates a voltage drop on the DC cable based on the VRRH measurement and then adds different voltage steps to VIN so VOUT compensates for the voltage drop. Calculating the voltage drop allows the PTS to more efficiently supply power to RRHs without having to increase the size of DC power cables.
