Abstract: A machine for centrifugally shooting abrasives that shoots the abrasives by rotation of an impeller is provided. In the machine, the impeller comprises a pair of disc-shaped side plates that face each other at a predetermined distance and a plurality of blades disposed between the side plates in the radial direction of the side plates. The impeller is mounted on a hub that is fitted into an output shaft of an electric motor. The impeller is covered by a cover. The side liner and blades of the machine can be easily replaced. A side liner 3 that is U-shaped with the longer side facing downward is detachably attached to the inner side of the cover 2. The upper part of the side liner is divisible into two parts. The side liner protects the side wall of the cover 2 from the abrasives that are shot from the impeller. The side liner has a U-shaped cross section. The impeller 1 is fixed to the hub 4 by screwing a bolt 15 on the hub 4 from the inner sides of the side plates 11.
Abstract: An electromechanical toilet leak detector comprises first and second enclosure portions. An adhesive structure disposed on the second enclosure portion, the adhesive structure in use for being removably adhered to the porcelain outer surface of a flush toilet. One of the first and second enclosure portions includes a groove that mates with a lip provided by the other of the first and second enclosure portions to provide a substantially water-resistant seal therebetween. A vibration sensing transducer disposed between the first and second enclosure portions generates a signal responsive to vibration generated by the toilet due to water inflow turbulence.
Abstract: The present invention provides a film for flip chip type semiconductor back surface, which is to be formed on a back surface of a semiconductor element flip-chip connected on an adherend, the film including a wafer adhesion layer and a laser marking layer, in which the wafer adhesion layer has a light transmittance of 40% or more in terms of a light having a wavelength of 532 nm and the laser marking layer has a light transmittance of less than 40% in terms of a light having a wavelength of 532 nm.
Abstract: A method for the continuous manufacture of cigarillos and other smoking articles comprising a rod of smokable material and a wrapper of tobacco leaf material circumscribing the rod comprises: conveying an elongate web of tobacco leaf material along a pre-determined path; repeatedly severing the elongate web to form a succession of discrete wrappers; contacting each of the succession of discrete wrappers with a respective one of a succession of rods of smokable material; and convoluting the discrete wrappers around the rods of smokable material to form smoking articles. The method may further comprise cutting a plurality of polygonal tobacco leaf portions from at least one tobacco leaf; and tessellating the plurality of polygonal tobacco leaf portions to form the elongate web.
Abstract: Detection of individual objects using a light source and a whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonator. Light from the whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonator is analyzed. The presence of an object is determined based on mode splitting associated with the light received by the photodetector. For example, the presence of the object may be determined based on the distance between two whispering gallery modes and/or the linewidths of the two modes in a transmission spectrum. Alternatively, the presence of the object may be determined based on a beat frequency that is determined based on a heterodyne beat signal produced by combining split laser modes in the received light from a WGM microcavity laser.

Abstract: A linear actuator includes a drive arm and an extension arm each extending along a common drive axis. One of the arms has a plurality of resiliently deformable fingers extending beyond the end of the arm towards the other arm. At least one of the fingers has a thread on its inner face while the other arm has a threaded portion. At least part of the threaded portion is received between the fingers. The fingers are adapted to urge the threads of the two arms into interengagement such that rotation of the drive arm about the drive axis displaces the extension arm along the drive axis. The two threads are arranged such that when the ridge of one thread is received in the groove of the other thread the two sides of the ridge abut the two edges of the mouth of the groove.

Abstract: The performance of the analysis system is deteriorated because file content extraction processing is performed in the file aggregation server and in the analysis server and further because annotation data creation is performed in the file aggregation server. Therefore, the present invention solves the problem by providing a file aggregation server classifying files into analysis target contents, non analysis target contents, and content matched data, and providing only the analysis target contents to the analysis server. Since this method enables the analysis server to acquire the analysis target contents directly from the file aggregation server, the processing of extracting contents from the files becomes unnecessary, and the throughput of the entire analysis system is improved.
Abstract: Disclosed is a processing system and method, the system including a code physically associated with a source. The code includes one or more patterns including a guide pattern arranged in a mark, wherein each pattern includes one or more pattern elements arranged in pattern element zones. Each of the respective pattern has a pattern signature based on a predetermined physical attribute corresponding to the one or more pattern elements within the respective pattern. The system further includes a detection device configured to capture the mark, and a controller coupled to the detection device configured to generate physical attribute data associated with the captured mark, receive the physical attribute data, and determine the pattern signatures by performing an arithmetic calculation on the physical attribute data.
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring the permeability of a well structure defining a bore hole. The system comprises a wave generator, a sensor adapted to receive current wave data, and a processor programmed to compare the current wave data to prior wave data in order to determine the permeability of the well structure. The processor can calculate a correlation value and/or a decay value that reflects changes between the current wave data and the prior wave data, and these values can be displayed for the user. The method comprises creating a pressure wave in the bore hole, sensing current wave data, and comparing the current wave data to prior wave data in order to determine the permeability of the well structure. The step of comparing can include calculating a correlation value and/or a decay value that corresponds with the change in the data, and the values can be displayed.
Abstract: An improved start-up (soft-start) circuit for use with voltage regulators, and an improved regulator start-up methodology. For example, an apparatus includes a voltage regulator circuit and a start-up circuit operatively coupled to the voltage regulator circuit. The start-up circuit is configured to provide a current signal, during a start-up period, that generates a reference voltage at a reference input of the voltage regulator circuit such that the reference voltage ramps up at a rate substantially equal to a ramp-up rate of a supply voltage coupled to the start-up circuit and the voltage regulator circuit.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for detection of Ethernet segment protection, and this method includes: configuring a detection point in two segment protection domains with a shared link; configuring a joint monitor group on the shared link of said two segment protection domains; and judging whether the configured detection point and the joint monitor group receive a Continuity Check Message (CCM) in a certain period, if the CCM message is received, determining a detected segment corresponding to this CCM message is normal; if the CCM message is not received, determining the detected segment corresponding to this CCM message has a fault. The present invention further discloses a system for detection of Ethernet segment protection, including: a detection point configuration unit, a joint monitor group configuration unit and a judgment unit.

A first low-pass network may couple the sum node to the low-pass node, and a first high-pass network may couple the sum node to the high-pass node. A second low-pass network may couple the high-pass node to the intermediate node. A second high-pass network may couple the low-pass node to the intermediate node. The second high-pass network may include the series connection of a first capacitor, a coupling network, and a second capacitor. The coupling network may include two coupling sections each with planar broadside-coupled first, second, and third conductor elements separated by dielectric layers. The first and third conductor elements in each section may be connected electrically in parallel.

Abstract: A check valve includes a valve body having a valve seat, a diffuser, a disc coupled to the diffuser, and a compression spring. The diffuser is positioned inside the valve body and has a forward face. The disc is coupled to and movable relative to the diffuser and has an upstream face and a downstream face. The compression spring biases the disc into a normally open position during forward flow. A check valve apparatus further comprises at least one test bore through the valve member in communication with the disc. A method for testing the operation of a passive check valve is also disclosed.
