Abstract: A cold deep hole forming device is capable of forming, by cold forging a deep hole for an involute spline, etc. with high accuracy and in a simple way, even in a member to be formed that is partially different in thickness. A supporting base 1A supports the member W to be formed and a punch 1B forms the deep hole H in the member W. A clamp holder 3 is provided on the outer circumference of the punch 1B. A clamp 2 is composed of split clamping pieces 21 disposed in the clamp holder 3. When forming deep hole H in the member W with the punch 1B, the clamping pieces 21 are made to move in the direction of the center under fluid pressure so as to constrain the member W to be formed at its outer circumference having a small diameter portion WT.
Abstract: A wide endless-loop chain-link drilling mud separation belt formed of a plurality of laterally adjacent jointed links hinged together by transverse rods is pre-stretched prior to its installation and use on a drilling mud separation unit to prevent subsequent elongation, distortion, misalignment, chain tooth jumping, and side loading. The chain-link belt is installed on and driven in a continuous loop around a pair of parallel spaced cylindrical rollers adjustably mounted transversely in a rectangular frame of a hydraulic tensioning machine. The drive roller has a plurality of axially spaced circumferential rows of radially extending teeth that engage the openings in the links and the other roller has a smooth circumference.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for forming a multi-lobed winding for the stator of an alternator, particularly for use in the automotive field and of the type comprising turns defining a star-shaped configuration having a plurality of radial lobes alternated with hollows.
Abstract: An improved machine for forming a plurality of thin, spiral grooves in the inner surface of a metal pipe. A grooving plug is inserted and held in the metal pipe in such a manner that its axial position is constant and the metal pipe, while being moved longitudinally, is pressed by a plurality of balls which rotate planetarily around the outer surface of the metal pipe at a position corresponding to the position of the grooving plug to continuously form a plurality of spiral grooves in the inner surface of the metal pipe. Thereafter, the metal pipe is finished through a die. The machine manufactures at a high rate metal pipe which has a smooth outer surface and a grooved inner surface.
