  • Patent number: 10169090
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for facilitating tiered service model-based fair allocation of resources for application servers in multi-tenant environments. In one embodiment and by way of example, a method includes collecting, by and incorporating into the database system, data relating to job types associated with one or more tenants of a plurality of tenants within a multi-tenant database system, computing, based on the data, an actual resource use and an expected resource allocation associated with each job type, and assigning classifications to the job types based on their corresponding actual resource use and the expected resource allocation. The method may further include routing the job types between tiers based on the assigned classifications, where the routing includes at least one of promoting, demoting, and maintaining one or more tiers for the job types.

  • Patent number: 10083011
Abstract: A smart tuple manager includes a mechanism for splitting a smart tuple, and for automatically generating one or more classes from existing classes when a smart tuple is split. When a first smart tuple is split into second and third new smart tuples, classes for the second and third smart tuples are automatically generated from the class for the first smart tuple. The classes for the second and third smart tuples are subsets of the data elements and code segments in the first class. After a class is automatically generated, new code segments may be added to the class as needed.

  • Patent number: 10083026
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed describing an In-Service Software Upgrade for a Software Defined Networking (SDN) controller of a cloud data center. A cloud data center includes a first SDN controller configured to perform session management of a plurality of session instances, an orchestration engine communicatively coupled to the first SDN controller via a northbound application program interface (API); and a plurality of compute nodes configured to perform compute functions for the plurality of session instances. In response to receiving a request to perform an in-service software upgrade (ISSU) of the first SDN controller, the orchestration engine spawns a second, upgraded SDN controller on the cloud data center. An ISSU process initializes the second SDN controller and transfers session management for the plurality of session instances from the first SDN controller to the second SDN controller. Finally, the ISSU process removes the first SDN controller from the cloud data center.

  • Patent number: 10055223
Abstract: A data processing method including, in a procurement application program, generating and causing displaying as part of a graphical user interface of a client computer, a user interface widget that is programmed to list a plurality of different project identifiers; receiving first input indicating a selection of a particular project identifier representing a project managed using the procurement application program from among the plurality of different project identifiers; in response to the first input, retrieving from a database, a particular self-executing project table that corresponds to the particular project identifier, from among a plurality of digitally stored self-executing project tables, wherein the particular self-executing project table comprises: header data; a plurality of action identifiers of a plurality of different actions that are available in the procurement application program and that are associated with executing the particular self-executing project table; a plurality of different con

  • Patent number: 10019177
Abstract: A method and system for updating a collection of software resources in a virtual desktop infrastructure system. Virtual machines associated with sets of virtual disk elements in a hierarchy of disk layers, such as basic, department, or user virtual disks are offered updates for one or more available software resources. Updates available for deployment in the virtual desktop infrastructure system are recorded in a database by a controller server. The controller server takes an inventory of all the virtual machines associated with each disk layer in the hierarchy of disk layers on which to apply the available updates. The controller server applies the one or more updates to the identified virtual machines, and stores the update application results in a database. The controller server may apply the one or more updates to virtual machines associated with descendant disk layers in the hierarchy of disk layers in view of previous applications of the updates.
