Abstract: A pharmaceutical liquid composition containing the Pirfenidone in a very high concentration of more or less 25% by weight can be obtained by dissolving the Pirfenidone in diethylene glycol monoethyl ether. Even when the liquid medicinal compositions are stored for a long period of time, the Pirfenidone will not be recrystallized with a good chemical and physical stability. Furthermore, the liquid compositions are little irritating to the wounds on the mucous membrane of the skin and suitable for the manufacture of pharmaceutical formulations to be administered either via the oral, percutaneous, nasal or vaginal routes or by means of spray, patch, inhalation, injection or intravenous drip.
Abstract: A method of treating mucositis in immunocompromised patients is disclosed which is based on contacting the affected area with an amount of composition which comprises triclosan and a cationic antibacterial agent in amounts which are effective to alleviate the symptoms of mucositis.
Abstract: The present invention provides, in one aspect, a physiological cooling composition comprising at least one cyclohexane carboxamide, at least one acyclic carboxamide, and at least one stereoisomer of menthyl lactate. In another aspect, disclosed is a method for producing such composition. In still another aspect, disclosed are various consumer products comprising a physiological cooling composition comprising at least one cyclohexane carboxamide, at least one acyclic carboxamide, and at least one stereoisomer of menthyl lactate.

Abstract: Disclosed are compositions for affecting weight loss comprising a first compound and a second compound, where the first compound is an opioid antagonist and the second compound causes increased agonism of a melanocortin 3 receptor (MC3-R) or a melanocortin 4 receptor (MC4-R) compared to normal physiological conditions. Also disclosed are methods of affecting weight loss, increasing energy expenditure, increasing satiety in an individual, or suppressing the appetite of an individual, comprising identifying an individual in need thereof and treating that individual to antagonize opioid receptor activity and to enhance ?-MSH activity.
Abstract: Stain-removing oral compositions, such as gum compositions are herein provided. The compositions include a chelating agent and a surfactant. The surfactant includes a fatty acid salt and at least one component selected from nonionic and anionic surfactants. The fatty acid salt may have at least one hydroxyl functionality. The oral compositions may optionally include an abrasive agent.
