  • Patent number: 11251864
Abstract: An optical switch configuration is disclosed that gives the appearance of a logical cut in a fiber optic line. The inputs to the optical switch are redundant so that if a fiber event occurs on one input, the optical switch can switch to the other input. In the case where both paths of an optical fiber have fiber events, router convergence is delayed. One mechanism to mitigate a prolonged fiber degradation is to dampen the optical power on the output optical fiber of the optical switch, such that it creates a loss of light and appears as a clean cut of the optical fiber. Another solution uses optical switches to inject an alternate light source onto the output optical fiber, wherein the alternate light source is of a wavelength to be filtered out giving an appearance of a clean cut of the optical fiber.

  • Patent number: 11250270
Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for supervising and monitoring the delivery of a package to a property. In some implementations, shipment data indicating a package to be delivered at the property and identification information for a first person is obtained. A request for a second person to access the property and deliver the package that includes identification information for the second person is received. Identification information for the first person is compared to the identification information for the second person. Access to the property is provided to the second person. Sensor data generated by one or more sensors that are located throughout the property and while providing access to the property is obtained and analyzed. A determination of whether the second person delivered the package to the property is made based on analyzing the sensor data. Data indicating the determination is provided for output.

  • Patent number: 11227145
Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for facial landmark detection using a convolutional neural network (CNN). The CNN comprises a first stage and a second stage where the first stage produces initial heat maps for the landmarks and initial respective locations for the landmarks. The second stage processes the heat maps and performs Region of Interest-based pooling while preserving feature alignment to produce cropped features. Finally, the second stage predicts from the cropped features a respective refinement location offset to each respective initial location. Combining each respective initial location with its respective refinement location offset provides a respective final coordinate (x,y) for each respective landmark in the image. Two-stage localization design helps to achieve fine-level alignment while remaining computationally efficient.

Abstract: A modified optical PAM communication system using multiple laser sources to generate each amplitude level. The systems can be applied separately or in conjunction with another modulation system such as SDM, MDM, WDM, TDM, or other communication systems. In an embodiment, a PAM-4 system will increase data rate by a factor of two, but more complicated schemes using more lasers can be utilized to generate higher efficiency schemes. For example, a 25 Gbps NRZ signal will give 50 Gbps PAM-4 signal and higher laser systems can generate PAM-8 or PAM-16 for 75 and 100 Gbps systems respectively. These can be further applied to SDM systems to generate higher data rates equivalent to the number of SDM channels multiplied by the PAM efficiency. In embodiments, the invention may combing PAM with WDM and SDM to achieve multiple bits per symbol.
