Abstract: A system and method for using weather applied metrics for determining the impact of weather conditions on the flight of a ball at an outside sports venue. Historical and current data for weather parameters, including wind, air pressure, humidity, temperature, and rain, are obtained to calculate the influence of each parameter on the flight of a ball. The influences of each of the parameters are summed to model the flight of the ball based on the current weather conditions. Weather instruments, such as weather sensors, anemometers, LiDAR and SODAR devices, weather consoles, data routing devices, and processors can be included in a system for using weather applied metrics to predict the flight of a ball based on current weather conditions.

  • Patent number: 10996236
Abstract: An accelerometer wireless position transducer or sensor is physically coupled to a control device in a process control system and includes an accelerometer that generates a signal based on a position of the control device or its actuator. The transducer converts the accelerometer signal into a wireless signal that includes a value indicative of the actuator position, and causes the wireless position feedback signal to be transmitted over a wireless channel to a valve controller, e.g., by using a short-range wireless protocol. The controller controls the valve based on the value included in the wireless signal. In some configurations, the feedback signal is received at a device paired with the transducer, and the paired device transmits the feedback signal to the controller. The paired device may be paired with multiple transducers and/or sensors, and may transmit various feedback signals to multiple recipient controllers and other devices.

  • Patent number: 10976438
Abstract: According to an embodiment, a device includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry performs three-dimensional measurement of surroundings of a mobile object to obtain a three-dimensional point group. The processing circuitry calculates movement information. The processing circuitry makes a threshold value based on time series differences in the movement information. The processing circuitry extracts, from the three-dimensional group, three-dimensional points having distance to the mobile object in a moving direction of the mobile object to be equal to or smaller than the threshold value. The processing circuitry divides space, in which the three-dimensional points are present, into divided spaces in the moving direction. The processing circuitry selects a representative point for the divided space from among three-dimensional points included in the divided space.

  • Patent number: 10794880
Abstract: Sequential identification numbers are automatically provided and undisplayed, constant, unique numbers are assigned to each event registered in an analysis condition setting table 100. Since correspondence information between the identification numbers and the unique numbers changes due to the reassignment of identification numbers when an event is deleted from the table, event identification numbers for each compound are changed by referring to the correspondence information on a compound information table. As a result, it is possible to avoid the misalignment of event identification numbers between both tables. In addition, when an instruction is given to coordinate the time information or m/z information on both tables, the information on one table is reflected on the other table in accordance with the identification numbers.

  • Patent number: 10740512
Abstract: A system for tuning a photovoltaic power generation plant forecast with the aid of a digital computer is provided. Global horizontal irradiance (GHI), ambient temperature and wind speed for a photovoltaic power generation plant over a forecast period are obtained. Simulated plane-of-array (POA) irradiance is generated from the GHI and the plant's photovoltaic array configuration as a series of simulated observations. Inaccuracies in GHI conversion are identified and the simulated POA irradiance at each simulated observation is corrected based on the conversion inaccuracies. Simulated module temperature is generated based on the simulated POA irradiance, ambient temperature and wind speed. Simulated power generation over the forecast period is generated based on the simulated POA irradiance, simulated module temperature and the plant's specifications and status.
