Abstract: Commitments against various resources can be dynamically adjusted for customers in a shared-resource environment. A customer can provision a data volume with a committed rate of Input/Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) and pay only for that commitment (plus any overage), for example, as well as the amount of storage requested. The customer can subsequently adjust the committed rate of IOPS by submitting an appropriate request, or the rate can be adjusted automatically based on any of a number of criteria. Data volumes for the customer can be migrated, split, or combined in order to provide the adjusted rate. The interaction of the customer with the data volume does not need to change, independent of adjustments in rate or changes in the data volume, other than the rate at which requests are processed.

Abstract: A proxy server for uploading a file according to an embodiment of the present disclosure improves the upload speed of a file and to minimize upload delay due to the occurrence of an error in the upload process. Due to the fact that the upload of the upload target file is started by the client delivering only one HTTP request to the proxy server to start the upload of the upload target file instead of requesting an upload link for each divided chunk to the backend server and receiving the response message from the backend server, a transaction over a network having a relatively slow communication speed can be minimized and the upload speed can be improved accordingly.

Abstract: In some implementations, a device may determine whether an existing record for a file, received at a file storage location, is present in a record log. The device may generate, based on determining that the existing record for the file is not present in the record log, a record for the file in the record log. The record may identify the file and a first region. The device may determine, after generating the record, whether the record has been changed to identify a second region. The device may process the file based on determining that the record has not been changed to identify the second region.

Abstract: Systems and methods are for domain name system (DNS) resolutions in heterogeneous network environments including a virtual private cloud (VPC). An administrator of a virtual private cloud (VPC) specifies rules identifying sources for resolving DNS resolution requests. The rules may include routing a request to a source outside the VPC such as to an on-premises DNS resolver through an outbound IP endpoint.

Abstract: A method for using inventory rules to identify devices of a computer network includes intercepting data traffic across one or more communication links of the computer network. The intercepted data traffic is analyzed to determine whether one or more of a plurality of inventory rules is satisfied by the intercepted data traffic. Each of the plurality of inventory rules includes one or more conditions indicating the presence of a particular computer network device having a set of parameters. Devices of the computer network are identified using one or more satisfied inventory rules.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to utilizing an extension to software defined networking (SDN) to manage storage area networks (SANs) by receiving, at a switch configured with and managed by a SDN architecture, at least one table. The at least one table being operable in the SDN architecture and including routing information. The switch routes traffic over a SAN using the routing information in the at least one table.

Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure relate generally to a data processing system that identifies possibly manipulated or fraudulent digital components in a computer network environment. The data processing system can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data packet (or other protocol based) transmission over one or more computer networks by, for example, preventing or reducing the number of manipulated or fraudulent digital component transmissions.

Abstract: Webpage or other resource accesses by client systems may be recorded, and those accesses may be analyzed to develop audience measurement reports. At times, it may be desirable to segment those reports according to classes of client systems (e.g., work vs. home client systems). A given client system can be classed into one of the reporting classes based on one or more classes of network service providers that provide the client with access to a network. The recorded resource accesses and classes of the client systems can then be used to generate audience measurement reports that are segmented according to one or more of the client system classes.

Abstract: Systems and methods for adaptive switching between multiple content delivery networks during adaptive bitrate streaming. In one embodiment, an adaptive content delivery network switching device includes a processor, a network interface, and a memory connected to the processor, where the memory contains a content delivery network switching application and, the content delivery network switching application directs the processor to receive content from a first content delivery network, determine a minimum performance threshold based on playback variables from the received content, receive new content from a second content delivery network if the minimum performance threshold is not satisfied.

Abstract: A proxy server is augmented with the capability of taking transient possession of a received entity for purposes of serving consuming devices. This capability supplements destination forwarding and/or origin server transactions performed by the proxy server. This capability enables several entity transfer modes, including a rendezvous service, in which the proxy server can (if invoked by a client) fulfill a client's request with an entity that the proxy server receives from a producing device contemporaneous with (or shortly after) the request for that entity. It also enables server-to-server transfers with synchronous or asynchronous destination forwarding behavior. It also enables a mode in which clients can request different representations of entities, e.g., from either the near-channel (e.g., the version stored at the proxy server) or a far-channel (e.g., at origin server).

Abstract: Techniques for a configuration change service to transition a network controller into a frozen state, causing network users submitting configuration changes associated with the network to refrain from deploying the configuration changes for a period of time are disclosed. A first user configured as a stager role may submit data representing a proposed change to the configuration change service, where the proposed change may be stored in association with a list of proposed changes. A second user configured as an approver role may submit data representing an approval or disapproval of the proposed changes to the configuration change service, where a modified list of proposed changes may be generated. A third user configured as an administrator role may submit data configured to transition the controller to an unfrozen state and/or deploy the changes included in the list of proposed changes to the network controller, subsequent to the period of time.

Abstract: A monitoring system that receives messages that are exchanged with the application server. Relationships between users are posited in response to the times at which the messages are received. A relationship between two users may be posited in response to receiving, at approximately the same time, two messages from the application server that are destined, respectively, for the two users. The near-simultaneous receipt of the two messages indicates that the two messages were sent from the server at approximately the same time, which, in turn, indicates that the two messages may correlate with one another. Further indication of a correlation between the messages, which may increase the level of confidence with which the relationship between the two users is posited, may be found by examining the respective sizes of the messages, which indicate the message types.

Abstract: A system may include a database disposed within a remote network management platform, a server device disposed in the platform, and a client device. The database may contain representations of configuration items, such as computing devices and software applications associated with the managed network. The server device may provide a graphical user interface including a sequence of panes to the client device. The sequence of panes may include an identifier pane, an identification rules pane, and a reconciliation pane. Each pane may include data entry fields that are operable to define a new class of configuration item. The server device may receive, by way of the graphical user interface, a definition of the new class that uniquely identifies configuration items of a particular type using at least the attributes. The server may store, in the database, the definition of the new class.

Abstract: A media stream sending method, apparatus, and system for providing a live media stream for a client that enters a live broadcast room includes a proxy server that receives a first live broadcast room request message and a second live broadcast room request message that are sent by a same proxy client; the proxy server receives a first live media stream that is sent by a media server to a first client and a second live media stream that is sent by the media server to a second client; and when determining that a role of the first client is a master user, and that a role of the second client is a slave user, the proxy server sends only the first live media stream to the proxy client such that the proxy client sends the first live media stream to the first client and the second client.

Abstract: Techniques of partition abstraction in a wide area network are disclosed herein. In one example, a method includes receiving, at a partition of the wide area network, a request to perform a computing task with a computing resource in the wide area network, the computing resource having a resource identifier. In response to receiving the request, the method also includes determining whether the resource identifier of the computing resource includes a partition embedded globally unique identifier (PEGUID) and in response to determining that the resource identifier includes a PEGUID, extracting the PEGUID from the resource identifier and decoding the PEGUID to identify a partition corresponding to the computing resource.

Abstract: One method occurs at a network test system implemented using at least one processor. The method includes receiving configuration information for configuring a network testing scenario comprising an emulated switching environment, wherein the configuration information includes topology information defining the emulated switching environment; configuring, using the configuration information, the emulated switching environment including allocating, using a switch application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) resource allocator, resources of at least one physical ASIC switch to multiple emulated switches; and configuring, using the configuration information, a test session for testing a system under test (SUT) using the emulated switching environment and a network visibility infrastructure for obtaining performance information associated with the test session.

Abstract: When a Rich Communications Services (RCS) data file is to be provided to a terminating user equipment (UE) that is on a different mobile communications network than an originating UE, the network address, or uniform resource locator (URL), of the RCS data file may be modified to indicate that the RCS data file is to traverse a network-to-network interface (NNI). An RCS system on the originating mobile communications network may identify if the terminating UE is on the same or different mobile communications network. If the terminating UE is on a different mobile communications network, then the RCS system may modify the URL to indicate the originating and terminating mobile communications networks and send the URL to an RCS system of the terminating mobile communications network. The modified URL enables retrieval of the RCS data file network by a content system of the terminating mobile communications network.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an online diagnostic platform, and a permission management method and a permission management system thereof. The permission management method includes: when user information of a registered user is received, assigning a role in a role set to the registered user; determining a permission corresponding to the role; and generating a menu corresponding to the registered user, where the menu includes one or more function portals, the function portal being used for requesting execution of a diagnostic service function. The method uses security control policies such as the registered user, the role and the permission, and is flexible in management and relationship configuration. In addition, the permission management system is separated from a service system, has good expansibility, and can ensure stable running and data security of the system.

Abstract: A management apparatus is configured to manage a network service (NS) constructed on a network (NW) including a core NW configured to serve as a virtualization area and an access NW configured to serve as a non-virtualization area includes an E2EO configured to control the NS, an SVRO configured to control server-type apparatuses located on the NW, and a NWRO configured to control NW-type apparatuses located on the NW. The E2EO includes a single data center (DC) determination unit configured to determine whether a group of apparatuses used for providing the NS is located in a single DC. The group of apparatuses is designated by an order acquired from an upper level apparatus U. Among the NW-type apparatuses, ToRs located in the DC are controlled by the SVRO, instead of by the NWRO, when it is determined that the group of apparatuses is located in the single DC.

Abstract: One embodiment provides a method, including: identifying an aspect present in media content, wherein the aspect is associated with a user; determining, using a processor, whether the aspect is compatible with user permissions delineated in a user profile associated with the user; and performing, responsive to determining that the aspect of the media content is not compatible with the user permissions, a remedial action.
