    Abstract: Disclosed is carbonaceous material for a negative electrode of a lithium secondary battery which reduces an irreversible capacity and increases a discharge capacity of the battery. A surface of carbon particles of the negative electrode is coated with a porous nickel thin film, wherein the nickel film comprises 0.05% by weight to 1.0% by weight of the carbonaceous material.
