  • Patent number: 10336113
Abstract: A thermal printer comprises: a thermal line head configured to include a plurality of resistors and prints an image based on a received print data on thermosensitive paper, the plurality of resistors being divided into unit of being able to be energized concurrently; and a head element inspection unit configured to perform inspection, with the plurality of resistors divided into the unit, to acquire a resistance value of each resistor belonging to the unit on a unit-by-unit basis; wherein, when the image is not being printed, the head element inspection unit inspects the resistors in the unit of division each; wherein the inspection of the resistors is suspended on the unit-by-unit basis, the suspension being based on the print data; and wherein, after completion of the printing of the image, the suspended inspection is resumed on the unit-by-unit basis from where suspended.

  • Patent number: 10298797
Abstract: Sealability between a cover member and a transparent member of an optical scanning apparatus is improved to improve dustproof performance. An optical scanning apparatus includes an elastic member 75 for sealing a portion between a cover member 70 and a glass member 90, the elastic member 75 being formed on the cover member 70 so as to surround an opening portion 42, the elastic member 75 being formed from a material that differs from that of the cover member 70. The elastic member 75 has a protrusion 75a that extends towards the glass member 90. The protrusion 75a fills a gap between the cover member 70 and the glass member 90 by contacting the glass member 90 and being elastically deformed.

  • Patent number: 10265953
Abstract: In an inkjet printer capable of performing an overprint process by feeding only in a first direction while reducing clogging of nozzles, a controller includes first, second and third controllers. The third controller instructs the first controller to perform a first image-printing scan, a first minute feed and a second image-printing scan without discharging an image ink from a first nozzle at an end portion of a first nozzle row in a first direction along a secondary scan direction; then performs a second minute feed of feeding a recording medium in the first direction along the secondary scan direction relative to a discharge head; and then instructs the second controller to perform a first base-printing scan, a first minute feed and a second base-printing scan without discharging a base ink from a second nozzle at an end portion of a second nozzle row in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, along the secondary scan direction.
