  • Patent number: 8717281
Abstract: An electrofluidic device includes first structural layer and second structural layer. First structural layer includes first substrate; and first electrode and second electrode on the first substrate. The second electrode has an indent region surrounding and without contacting first electrode. First hydrophobic layer is at least over the second electrode. Second structural layer at one side of the first structural layer with a gap includes second substrate and groove structure layer. The groove structure layer includes an indent groove, corresponding to the indent region of the second electrode. Second hydrophobic layer is over the groove structure layer. Polar fluid is disposed in the indent groove and remains in contact with the first electrode. Non-polar fluid is disposed in the gap between the first and second structural layers.

  • Patent number: 8040336
Abstract: A display device includes a rescue circuit line structure having a first conductive pattern, a second conductive pattern and a dielectric layer. The first conductive pattern is adapted to electrically interconnect a first circuit element and a second circuit element, wherein the first conductive pattern has an open. Neither of the first and second conductive patterns is used as a data line or a scan line. The dielectric layer is located on the open and disposed between the first conductive pattern and the second conductive pattern.

  • Patent number: 8018444
Abstract: A data driving circuit for displaying uniform images, a light emitting display device using the same, a driving method thereof. The data driving circuit includes a holding latch part including a plurality of holding latches for storing data, a signal generation part including a plurality of digital-analog converters for receiving the data and for generating data signals, a first switching part located between the holding latch part and the signal generation part, and a second switching part electrically connected to the signal generation part, the second switching part being for transmitting the data signals to data lines, wherein the first switching part electrically connects the respective holding latches to the respective digital-analog converters differently during a previous frame than during a current frame. As such, the data driving circuit may diffuse errors of the digital-analog converters to display uniform images.

  • Patent number: 5777604
Abstract: A touch panel input apparatus has a touch panel which consists of X- and Y-direction electrode panels. When the apparatus is in a power-off state, one end of the X electrode panel is intermittently connected to a power source and one end of the Y electrode panel is intermittently grounded via an output resistor, in response to control signals outputted from a sampling circuit. In this state, synchronously with a clock signal, the sampling circuit performs sampling of a voltage developed across the output resistor when the two electrode panels are brought into contact. The sampling circuit outputs a power-on instruction signal to make the CPU perform the power-on operation. The sampling circuit stops its sampling operation once power is turned on.
