Abstract: Multi-phase polymer films of quantum dots (QDs) and their use in light emitting devices (LEDs) are disclosed. The QDs are absorbed in a host matrix, which dispersed within an outer polymer phase. The host matrix is hydrophobic and is compatible with the surface of the QDs. The host matrix may also include a scaffolding material that prevents the QDs from agglomerating. The outer polymer is typically more hydrophilic and prevents oxygen from contacting the QDs.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for manufacturing copolyether ester polyol comprising: (1) providing feedstock comprising polytetramethylene ether glycol having a number average molecular weight of 350 g/mol or less and an oligomeric cyclic ether content of 4.0% by weight or more and a diacid composition selected from alpha-omega alkanedioic acids of formula HO2C—(CH2)n—CO2H, where n is from 2 through 16 to a reaction zone maintained at reaction conditions to produce a crude polyol product; (2) feeding the crude polyol product of step (1) to a separation zone at separation conditions to produce a first separation product having an oligomeric cyclic ether content of 2.0% by weight or greater, and a second separation product comprising copolyether ester polyol having an oligomeric cyclic ether content of less than 2.0% by weight; and (3) recovering the second separation product.
Abstract: The present invention provides a carboxyl group-containing polymer and a composition containing the polymer which exhibit excellent anti-soil redeposition ability in fabric washing. The carboxyl group-containing polymer includes specific ratios of a structure unit (a) derived from an ether bond-containing monomer (A), a structure unit (b) derived from a sulfonic acid group-containing monomer (B), and a structure unit (c) derived from an acrylic acid-based monomer (C), and has a specific weight average molecular weight. The carboxyl group-containing polymer composition contains the carboxyl group-containing polymer and a specific amount of a hydrogen sulfite adduct of the acrylic acid-based monomer (C).

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards a solution or bulk polymerization process for preparing high-cis polydienes that utilizes at least one vinyl aromatic compound as a molecular weight regulator. The disclosed solution or bulk polymerization processes are useful for preparing high-cis polydienes with a Mooney viscosity between 30 and 55 while allowing the use of lower amounts of catalyst.

Abstract: A composite comprising polypropylene and a filler, which comprises asphaltenes extracted from Arabian Heavy crude oil. The composite comprises 90-98 wt % of the polypropylene polymer and 2 wt % to less than 10 wt % of the filler, where the weight percentages are based on a total weight of the composite. A melt-blending method is used to prepare the composites. A material comprising the composite is disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed are a carboxylic acid-modified nitrile copolymer latex for dip molding comprising a combination of a carboxylic acid-modified nitrile copolymer latex and a carboxylic acid-modified styrene copolymer latex, a latex composition for dip molding comprising the same and a molded article prepared therefrom. Molded articles with superior tensile strength are produced by respectively preparing a carboxylic acid-modified nitrile latex having a low glass transition temperature and an average particle diameter of 90 nm or higher, and a carboxylic acid-modified styrene latex having a glass transition temperature of 80° C. or higher and an average particle diameter less than 90 nm and then mixing the two latexes.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a radically curable chemical composition in form of a resin for the production of materials having an intrinsic antimicrobial effect, to the applications of these materials, to a method for the preparation of these resins and materials, and to the use of an amino-functionalized styrene derivative as a reactive diluent. Abstract: A reactive functional group-containing polyarylene sulfide resin composition having a narrow polydispersity and a low gas generation amount is manufactured by mixing a polyarylene sulfide resin (a) and a polyarylene sulfide resin (b), wherein the polyarylene sulfide (a) has a weight reduction ratio ?Wr of not higher than 0.18% under heating and an increase rate of melt viscosity of less than 1.05 times by addition of a reactive compound (c) having a reactive group relative to melt viscosity prior to addition of the reactive compound (c), and the polyarylene sulfide (b) has the weight reduction ratio ?Wr of not higher than 0.18% under heating and the increase rate of melt viscosity of not less than 1.05 times by addition of the reactive compound (c) having the reactive group relative to melt viscosity prior to addition of the reactive compound (c).
