  • Patent number: 10923218
Abstract: An analyte measurement system includes one or more handheld analyte meters and/or measurement devices and a means for collecting data, preserving data integrity, and uniquely identifying patient data received from multiple sources. For example, provided herein is a means to uniquely identify patients and their data when the data is collected from one or more measurement devices. By providing a way to allow the patients to use multiple sources to collect data, the system described herein provides patients with more flexibility, which should encourage better compliance to protocols. Further, by having a way to uniquely identify patients' data without requiring a patient to only use one analyte meter, for example, data can be centralized and analysis can be done with more assurance that all of the patient's data is being considered in the analyses.

  • Patent number: 10922647
Abstract: At the time of manufacture of medical items that are to be consumed during patient care, a unique identification number is assigned to each item and the number is encoded in an RFID tag attached to the item. The manufacturer registers the unique identification number for each individual medical item in a Unique Device Identification (UDI) Serialized Tracking Database. The UDI Serialized Tracking Database maps each unique identification number to each item's UDI number that has been assigned by the Food and Drug Administration. As each item is consumed during medical treatment and its cost is billed to payers, the unique identification number of the item is reported and verified. This provides for detection of certain types of fraud in the dispensing of medical items by validating that necessary supplies were actually used during patient care.

  • Patent number: 10910093
Abstract: Systems and methods for post procedure care and wellness management. A care network for a care recipient in providing post procedure care to the care recipient for a procedure performed on the care recipient is formed. A user specific care plan for the care recipient is generated, the user specific care plan including post procedure content and first post procedure care conditions associated with the post procedure content is generated for the care recipient. Whether the first post procedure care conditions are satisfied is determined. The post procedure content is sent to the care recipient through an internal communication channel. A first care data received notification comprising a generic notification lacking any personal health information of the care recipient is sent to the care recipient through an external communication channel. The care recipient is logged in to view the post procedure content through the internal communication channel.

  • Patent number: 10910110
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for monitoring patients and quantitatively predicting whether an event such as a significant change in health status meriting intervention, is likely to occur within a future time interval subsequent to computing the prediction. Medical data for a patient is collected from one or more different inputs and used to determine time series data. From this, a forecasted numerical value is computed for one or more physiologic parameters associated with the patient, which may be used to further monitor the patient and facilitate decision making about a need for intensified monitoring or intervention to prevent or manage deterioration of hemostasis. An evolutionary algorithm, such as particle swarm optimization and/or differential evolution, may be used to determine the most probable value of the physiologic parameter(s) at one or more future times.

  • Patent number: 10886013
Abstract: In clinical documentation, mere documentation of a condition in a patient's records may not be enough. To be considered sufficiently documented, the patient's record needs to show that no documentation drop-offs (DDOs) have occurred over the course of the patient's stay. However, DDOs can be extremely difficult to detect. To solve this problem, the invention trains time-sensitive deep learning (DL) models on a per condition basis using actual and/or synthetic patient data. Utilizing an ontology, grouped concepts can be generated on the fly from real-time hospital data and used to generate time-series data that can then be analyzed by trained time-sensitive DL models to determine whether a DDO for a condition has occurred during the stay. Non-time-sensitive models can be used to detect all the conditions documented during the stay. Outcomes from the models can be compared to determine whether to notify a user that a DDO has occurred.

  • Patent number: 10853900
Abstract: Data characterizing an individual is received. Thereafter, one or more variables are extracted from the data so that, using a predictive model populated with the extracted variables, a likelihood of the individual adhering to a treatment regimen can be determined. The predictive model is trained on historical treatment regimen adherence data empirically derived from a plurality of subjects. Subsequently, data characterizing the determined likelihood of adherence can be promoted. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 10818388
Abstract: The invention relates to the administration of prescription drug formulary information. A list of drugs that a particular prescription drug plan will pay for in whole or in part is called a formulary. The invention involves the use of information and customizable rules associated with formularies, combined with information from patient medical records, to generate custom, dynamic formularies applicable to specific patients, groups of patients, or both. Depending on the choice of rules and the other information, this may help payers control prescription drug costs by encouraging the use of less-expensive drugs when medically appropriate, but without impairing the freedom of prescribers to prescribe specific drugs according to their professional judgments. Some embodiments may also be adapted to generate and store data about the use and functioning of the embodiments or aspects of them and to generate reports containing some or all such data in response to queries.

  • Patent number: 10811141
Abstract: Methods for predicting patient deterioration or clinical events by detecting patterns in heterogeneous temporal clinical data streams that are predictive of certain clinical end points and matching the patient state with those patterns are described. The detected patterns, referred to as SuperAlarm triggers, are a predictive combination of frequently co-occurring monitor alarms, conditions and laboratory test results that can predict patient deterioration for imminent life-threatening events. SuperAlarm triggers may also exhibit patterns in the sequence of SuperAlarms that are triggered over the monitoring time of a patient. Sequential patterns of SuperAlarm triggers may also indicate a temporal process of change in patient status. SuperAlarm based alerts will also greatly reduce the number of false alarms and alarm fatigue compared to conventional alarms.

  • Patent number: 10783488
Abstract: A system and method for locating nearby attended delivery/pickup locations with a particular item in stock is described. The system receives a request from an individual to purchase a particular item from an on-line retailer. The system receives information associated with attended delivery/pickup locations, including location and inventory information. The system then determines which (if any) attended delivery/pickup locations (e.g., the attended delivery/pickup locations are not the on-line retailer) are near the individual and have the particular item in stock and notifies the individual. In various embodiments, the system enables the user to purchase or reserve the particular item at the particular attended delivery/pickup location.

  • Patent number: 10770184
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for determining the likelihood of a presence or absence of one or more patient conditions based on unstructured text data from the electronic health records, which may accrue during the routine provisioning of care services. In particular, embodiments described herein use structural topic modeling (STM) to assess the textual information as to topical or concept-oriented expressions they contain that are statistically similar to those associated with various clinical conditions or diagnoses; to identify which condition- or diagnosis-oriented clusters the present texts most closely resemble, if any; and to notify the responsible clinicians of those determinations, suggesting consideration of those conditions or diagnoses as part of the constellation of differential diagnoses pertinent to the management of the patient.

  • Patent number: 10748115
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing implants for surgical procedures. In some implementations, a model that has been trained using data indicating characteristics of other patients and items used in surgeries for the other patients is obtained. Using the model and patient characteristics for a patient, such as the height and weight of the patient, the items needed for a surgery for a particular patient can be identified. For example, the likelihoods that different sizes of an implant component will be needed can be identified and used to determine which sizes of components should be provided at a medical facility and in the operating room for the patient's surgery.
