  • Patent number: 8593491
Abstract: With respect to liquid crystal display inversion schemes, a large change in voltage on a data line can affect the voltages on adjacent floating data lines due to capacitive coupling between data lines. The change in voltage on these floating data lines can be increased when the application of voltage to the data line occurs after a toggling operation of the Vcom, i.e., when a voltage applied to the Vcom changes the voltage on the Vcom from one polarity to an opposite polarity. Various embodiments of the present disclosure serve to eliminate or reduce the effects of Vcom voltage toggling on data line voltages by applying a voltage (e.g., a fixed voltage) to the data lines while the voltage on Vcom toggles.

  • Patent number: 8559282
Abstract: An average servo control method is provided. A target level of at least a servo signal is first detected, which is corresponding to a present condition of the optical disc drive. The target level is then compared with a current level of the servo signal, and a average servo loop gain is adjusted based on the comparison result. A target level calibration may be performed before the gain adjustment. The target level calibration analyzes the servo signal to determine a plurality of preset target levels each corresponding to a different condition. The preset target levels and corresponding conditions are stored as a lookup table. In this way, the target level is acquired based on the lookup table and the present condition.
