Abstract: A computer system includes a chassis and a hard disk drive mounting bracket rotatably attached to the chassis. A portion of the bracket includes a resilient surface formed therewith and extending into sliding engagement with the chassis. An alignment tab is attached to the bracket and extends therefrom into engagement with a groove in the chassis for guiding the bracket to a secured position. A securing tab is attached to the bracket and extends therefrom for engaging the chassis and securing the bracket in the secured position.

Abstract: The cage-supported hard disk drives in a computer server system are coupled to connectors on the cage back plane circuit boards and are controlled by a pair of array controller cards which are hot-plug connected in a redundant manner on the system I/O board using a pair of connectors mounted on the I/O board, each connector having first and second sets of electrical contacts thereon. Connector edge portions of the array controller cards are plugged into the I/O board connectors and have first and second sets of electrical contacts that engage the corresponding first and second sets of electrical contacts on their associated I/O board connectors.

Abstract: An integrated monitor and central processing unit wherein the bottom chassis frame of the monitor is mounted on the CPU frame; the CRT frame, having a front cover, is mounted on the bottom chassis frame and CPU frame; a plate frame, having a main circuit plate coupled therewith, is mounted on the bottom chassis frame and the CRT frame, a side shield being mounted on both sides thereof; a top shield is mounted on the CRT frame, the bottom chassis frame and the plate frame; a drawer chassis is inserted into and mounted on the CPU frame; and a back cover encases the finished assembly. An assembly method also is disclosed.
Abstract: A portable computer and a docking station and method in which a portable computer is effectively cooled while being docked. The docking station is provided with a heat conductive surface, and the computer is docked in the docking station with a surface of the computer in engagement with the heat conductive surface. The heat conductive surface functions to conduct heat away from the computer.
Abstract: Flexing of a display assembly for a flat panel display can be advantageously minimized or eliminated by a stiffener apparatus that is an adhesive backed thin member attached directly to the front or viewing side of the flat panel display device. The stiffener apparatus is also attached to a mounting bracket of the display assembly, or to another portion of the display assembly, in order to provide the desired stiffness. Additionally, should the display device be removed from the assembly for service, another advantage of the stiffener apparatus is that it remains with the display device and can readily be reattached to the mounting bracket or other portion of the display assembly.
