  • Patent number: 11654747
Abstract: A system for controlling fluid temperature in a thermal system includes a heat source, a heat sink coupled to the heat source, a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger, a first expansion valve configured to regulate the flow of coolant between the heat source and the first heat exchanger, a second expansion valve configured to regulate the flow of coolant between the heat source and the second heat exchanger, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine an operating condition of the thermal system and generate a first control signal to control the first and second expansion valves to direct the flow of coolant to the first and second heat exchangers. The first and second expansion valves are arranged in parallel to recover heat rejected from the coolant and distribute the recovered heat to the first and second heat exchangers.

  • Patent number: 11493287
Abstract: Self-regulating thermal insulation includes one or more thermal actuators that expand and contract in response to changes in temperature adjacent the thermal insulation, thereby automatically changing the thermal resistance of the thermal insulation. In this manner, a self-regulating thermal insulation may be configured to locally adjust in response to local changes in temperature of a part being insulated, for example, during curing or some other manufacturing process. Such self-regulating thermal insulation may be configured to respond to temperature changes without feedback control systems, power, or human intervention.

  • Patent number: 11433735
Abstract: A control system and method for a heating system of an electric vehicle or hybrid vehicle is embodied such that when there is a heating request for a high-voltage accumulator, an HVA heating mode is activated in which the high-voltage accumulator which is connected to an HVA circuit of the heating system is heated by an HVA heating source which is activated for this purpose so that heat is generated in the HVA circuit or transferred into the circuit. When there is a heating request for a passenger compartment of the vehicle, an air-conditioning heating mode is activated in which the passenger compartment is heated by a heating circuit, with heat which is generated in the heating circuit with an auxiliary heater or is transferred into the heating circuit with a heat pump, or both.

  • Patent number: 11408661
Abstract: An electric ice press includes a mold body having a first mold segment and a second mold segment movable relative to each other. A heated guide rail extends between the first mold segment and the second mold segment to transfer heat from the first mold segment to the second mold segment. The heated guide rail may be a heat pipe for transferring heat generated by a base heater in the first mold segment or an electrical resistance heating rod for generating heat, either of which requires only a single power cord electrically coupled to only the first mold segment.

  • Patent number: 11306237
Abstract: A latent-heat storage material composition includes: a latent-heat storage material for storing or releasing heat by utilizing absorption or release of latent heat in association with phase change; and additives mixed with the latent-heat storage material. The additives can adjust a property of the latent-heat storage material. The additives include a first additive, which is a water-soluble substance belonging to polysaccharides and is gellan gum, which is also a thickener for increasing the viscosity of a melt of the latent-heat storage material composition in a liquid phase state, based on interaction of the thickener with water contained in the latent-heat storage material composition and cations. The content of the gellan gum is 1 wt % or less of the weight of the whole latent-heat storage material composition.
