  • Patent number: 11872432
Abstract: An exercise device comprising an outer tube having a first end and an open second end. An inner tube has a first end fitting inside the open second end of the outer tube. Thus, the inner tube can slide inside the outer tube. Typically, from about 5 percent to about 30 percent of the inner tube will be inside the outer tube when the device is at rest (that is, no force is applied). When the user applies a force to the first end of the outer tube, the inner tube can slide inside the outer tube against force provided by a resistance device. Depending on the force applied, the inner tube can be inserted from about 10 percent to about 100 percent of its length inside the outer tube. The resistance device can be a spring, an elastic cord, magnetic repulsion, or the like.

  • Patent number: 11872441
Abstract: A rail system for an exercise machine which may be efficiently manufactured with different dimensions to suit different exercisers and exercise spaces. An exemplary embodiment includes a first rail, a second rail, a carriage movably connected to the first and second rails, at least one biasing member or elongated member adapted to be directly or indirectly connected to the carriage, and one or more spacers extending between the first and second rails. A lower member is connected between the rails beneath the spacers so as to enclose the space between the rails. The lower member includes a plurality of dividers defining channels in which elongated members or biasing members may extend. The spacers, rails, and lower member form a monorail configuration. The effective width of the monorail may be easily adjusted by simply using spacers having different widths, thus easing the manufacture of such exercise machines having different sizes.

  • Patent number: 11857827
Abstract: A sensing base for an adjustable free weight may include a cradle, and a sensing assembly, which includes a plurality of sensors and mechanical components (e.g., pivoting levers), each associated with a respective plate well that accommodates a weight plate of the adjustable free weight such that each mechanical component actuates the state of a respective sensor upon placement or removal of the weight in a plate well. Sensor signals reflecting the states of the sensors are communicated, via a circuit, a processor to determine the weight selection of the adjustable free weight when removed from the base. The sensing assembly may be implemented using individual sensors of a variety of different types such as hall effect sensors, optical interrupt sensors, IR optical sensors, and the like. The base may be configured to automatically communicate the determined weight to an external computing device to facilitate activity tracking and/or fitness coaching.
