Abstract: A method of manufacturing an irregularly shaped forging includes heating a billet to a predetermined temperature, placing the heated billet within the cavity of a die, advancing a punch into the cavity to begin to disperse the material into a plurality of radially extending extremities of the cavity and continuing to advance the punch into the die to force a portion of the material to enter predetermined clearance zones between the punch and the die to form an irregularly shaped forging having a plurality of axially extending flash portions.
Abstract: A bending apparatus which can bend pipes and obtain as small curvature as possible without flattening or buckling easily occurring in the bending region. The bending apparatus comprises a bending die for a pipe, a clamping die which rotates together with the bending die while clamping the pipe, a pressure die which hold down the pipe, and a metal core which is inserted into the pipe and maintains the shape of the bending region, wherein the metal core is a spherical metal core rotatably supported by an arch shaped arm on the leading end of a core holder.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for bending tubes particularly suited for bending thin-walled tubing into a tight radius bend. An external sleeve is used during the bending process which maintains the tube cross sectional area and tube wall thickness, thereby eliminating the need for a wiper die or an internal mandrel. In one embodiment the sleeve is split along its longitudinal axis.
Abstract: A round baier is provided with a single set of baling means such as belts, which are rotated over a series of fixed and mobile rolls. In order to form a bale of a large diameter several loops are formed in said baling means, which loops are controlled by two pivot arms. On a first pivot arm at least three rolls are provided, of which one is an idler roll, and on the second pivot arm at least one idler roll is provided, which all create loops to avoid slack in the baling means.
Abstract: A hollow stepped article is formed from a solid blank to reduce the material cost, and cracking is prevented in a stepped portion of large diameter when a portion of the blank is deformed by its radial expansion.
Abstract: A rotary press is supported on a frame allowing liquid and solid receivers to be placed underneath the rotary press. The rotary press has an outer ring and an inner drum. The inner drum has an upper and lower flange with a stripper ring retained between these flanges. The flanges form two sides of the cavity where the pressing takes place. The flanges carry the solids away from the pressing zone to a discharge zone where the stripper ring expels the solids. By transporting the solids away from the pressing zone where liquids are expelled, reabsorption of the liquid is avoided. The stripper ring can move relative to the two flanges and is biased against the outer ring by the inner ring. The stripper ring applies pressure to the material to be processed and also pushes solid material from between the upper and lower flanges to fall into a receiver for the solids.
Abstract: A metal container with thread capable of preventing such a defect that the strength of a lower end of a mouth part and an upper end of a shoulder part of a container main body is non-resistant to a pressing force in radial and axial directions, and a part of the container may be collapsed or buckled during a capping operation where content is filled into the container and cap is fitted to the container automatically by a machine, characterized in that at least one or more inwardly curving smooth annular recessed parts (4) and at least one or more outwardly curving smooth annular projected parts (5) are formed in an area ranging from the lower end (2a) of the mouth part (2) of the container main body to around the upper end (3a) of a tapered shoulder part increasing gradually in radial direction.
Abstract: A method of progressive die stamping manufacturing a biopsy forceps jaw comprising the steps of cutting a sheet of metal into a strip. The strip of metal may then be punched with a series of guide holes. A shape larger than a pattern of the biopsy forceps jaw may then be defined in the strip of metal. An actuating hole may be punched into the shape. A concave shaped cup portion of the biopsy forceps jaw may be drawn. The pattern of the biopsy forceps jaw may then be cut to expose a cutting edge and exposed edges of the pattern. The cutting edge can be coined to provide a hardened, sharp, cutting edge. The exposed edges may be chamfered and then the pattern may be folded and shaped to form a biopsy forceps jaw cup and an arm positioned relative to the biopsy forceps jaw cup. A pivot hole may then be punched into the arm. The biopsy forceps jaw may then go through a calibration so that the cutting edge is in a plane perpendicular to a plane of the arm. The jaw cup may then be cut off of the strip of metal.
Abstract: A notching, shearing, and hemming tool constructed with a table which receives the roofing panel, at least two notching devices (notchers), a pan shear pivotally mounted on the table, and a hemming tool pivotally mounted on the table. To prepare a finished end piece of roofing panel, the roofing panel is placed in a panel alignment section at a first end of the tool. Each of the notching devices is movable, so that the relative position of the two notchers is variable. After notching, the roofing panel is moved to the pan shear, which is set at the proper angle by movement of a lever mechanism connected to the notchers. The roofing panel is sheared along a center line of the notched area. This cut leaves a tongue of the flat pan of the roofing panel exposed on each cut piece. Following the shearing operation, the user is left with two cut panels, each having an exposed tongue section an inch-and-a-half long extending from the pan section.
Abstract: An installation tool that is used to install a bundling member, such as a metal tie or strap, around a bundle of objects. The installation tool has a tool body, a front handle and an adjustable rear handle. The front handle is positioned within the tool body and the rear handle is pivotally connected to the tool body. The front handle includes a tensioning mechanism with a ratchet mechanism that tensions the bundling member around the bundle of objects to a predetermined tension setting. The front handle also includes a lockout mechanism that overrides the predetermined tension setting of the tension mechanism to enable the bundling member to be tensioned to a desired tension setting.
Abstract: A method for producing an annular element having an inner toothing, especially a sliding sleeve. An outlet ring element can be arranged in an extrusion device which includes an annular matrix element with an inner bore hole, a sleeve stamping device which is arranged therein and has first and second annular sleeve stamping elements which can be moved in relation to each other in the inner bore hole, and an inner stamping device having first and second inner stamping elements and first and second partial regions which are interspaced in the circumferential direction. When the inner stamping device is closed, the partial regions form cavities for producing the inner toothing. The outlet ring element is arranged between the first and second inner stamping elements and is measured in such a way that when closing the sleeve stamping device, material from the outlet ring element flows into the cavities for the formation of the inner toothing.

Abstract: A system for forging a rack bar from a blank pipe. A blank pipe 1 is held between dies 2 and 3. Stockers 7L and 7R are arranged on respective sides of the die set. In the stockers 7L and 7R, left-handed shuttles 6L1, 6L2, 6L3, . . . 6Ln and right-handed shuttles 6R1, 6R2, 6R3 . . . 6Rn are stored. First, a left-handed presser rod 5L inserts the shuttles 6L1 to the blank pipe from the left-handed stocker 7L. Then, a right-handed presser rod 5R inserts the shuttles 6R1 to the blank pipe from the right-handed stocker 7R, causing the shuttles 6L1 to be entrained and returned to the left-handed stocker 7L. Vertical shift movement is alternately executed between the left-handed and right-handed stockers 7L and 7R, so that a shuttle of step-likely increased working height is selected for executing a working process.

Abstract: A press forming method is disclosed, wherein press forming can be effected at high speed while maintaining the horizontal state of a slide plate in press-forming a work-piece by a press machine. A press machine is used in which the slide plate is pressed by a plurality of drive sources using servo-motors for driving. The speed of one of the plurality of drive sources is set to a target speed for production forming for the drive source, and by using a function that shows a delay in terms of a speed of the drive source and a load thereon and also using a load separately found, the respective speeds of the drive sources are found so as to eliminate the delay between the drive sources. Trial forming is repeated on the basis of the thus-found speed to derive conditions that enable press-forming at high speed while maintaining the horizontal state of the slide plate.
