In the method, a first provider edge (PE) device receives a first virtual extensible local area network (VXLAN) packet through a first point-to-point (P2P) VXLAN tunnel between the first PE device and a third PE device A customer edge (CE) device is dual-homed to the first PE device and a second PE device respectively through a first Ethernet link and a second Ethernet link. The first PE device forwards the first VXLAN packet to the second PE device through a third P2P VXLAN tunnel from the first PE device to the second PE device when there is a fault on the first Ethernet link. The first Ethernet link connected to the first PE device and a link formed by the third P2P VXLAN tunnel and the second Ethernet link have a primary/secondary relationship.

If it is detected within a preset period of time that the smart device connects to a communication link corresponding to the hidden wireless communication function, network connection information is transmitted to the smart device to trigger connection of the smart device to a network connected to the router. By improving the method for connecting between a smart device and a router, it is possible to achieve automatic connection between the smart device and the router.

Further, the node assigns resources to the resource contingent and identifies resources in excess of the minimum amount as excess resources. In response to determining that the data packet (200) is a non-guaranteed data packet and determining that sufficient excess resources are present, the node forwards the data packet (200) based on the excess resources.
