Abstract: A bottom bracket is connected to a spindle and a frame of a bicycle. The bottom bracket comprises a housing and an adapter. The housing is connected to the frame and comprises a substantially circular disc, one or more pins, and an actuating mechanism. The disc comprises a plurality of disc openings arranged proximate to a circumferential edge of the disc and is adapted to rotate with the spindle. The pins selectively engage with the disc openings, wherein the engagement of the pins with the disc openings prevents further rotation of the disc. The actuating mechanism selectively engages the pins with the disc openings. The adapter removably is attached to the housing and connected to the frame.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a sensor for detecting the angle of a bicycle shoe or bicycle pedal in respect to a predetermined level and to a method of using a sensor to detect this angle. The sensor can be connected to a signaling device to notify the cyclist when the angle is less than 20 degrees such that the cyclist can lift one or both of his heels to exert more optimal power to the bicycle pedal.
Abstract: A telescope drive assembly for a steering column assembly includes a column jacket moveable in a rake direction and defining a tapered slot. The telescope drive assembly also includes a telescope actuator assembly operatively coupled to the column jacket to move the column jacket in a telescope direction. The telescope drive assembly further includes a telescope drive bracket operatively coupled to the telescope actuator assembly and to the column jacket, the telescope drive bracket and the column jacket rotatable about a common axis in the rake direction. The telescope drive assembly yet further includes a telescope guide disposed between the telescope drive bracket and the column jacket, the telescope guide disposed at least partially within the tapered slot and translatable within the tapered slot in the telescope direction.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to a pedal for a bicycle that includes a body, a spindle secured to the body and for connection to the bicycle, a first magnetic platter, and a second magnetic platter overlaying the first magnetic platter. The first and second magnetic platters each include a plurality of blocks formed of a material that can be magnetized, and a plurality of permanent magnet plates arranged so as to magnetize the blocks with either a magnetic north or magnetic south polarity with adjacent blocks being magnetized with opposite magnetic polarities. The second magnetic platter is movable with respect to the first magnetic platter by a ferrous metal cleat between a first position where the pedal is in a magnetically inactive state and a second position where the pedal is in a magnetically active state magnetically securing the cleat to the second magnetic platter.

Abstract: A printing apparatus comprises a conveyance control unit which controls conveyance of printing sheets so that a trailing edge of a preceding sheet as a printing sheet precedingly fed from the stacking unit and a leading edge of a succeeding sheet as a printing sheet succeedingly fed from the stacking unit overlap each other; and a skew correction unit which performs skew correction of the succeeding sheet while the succeeding sheet overlaps the preceding sheet by the conveyance control unit. The skew correction unit makes the leading edge of the succeeding sheet abut against the conveyance roller during a time from an end of a last line feed operation by the conveyance roller for printing on the preceding sheet by the printing unit to start of a next conveyance operation.
Abstract: An example system includes an advancement mechanism to drive print medium into a stacking region, a clamping mechanism, and a controller. The clamping mechanism includes a trailing edge clamping arrangement in a trailing edge portion of the stacking region and at least one downstream clamping arrangement in a downstream portion of the stacking region, the downstream portion being downstream of the trailing edge portion. The controller is to sequentially actuate the trailing edge clamping arrangement and the at least one downstream clamping arrangement when the advancement mechanism transports a print medium into the stacking region.

The scotch yoke mechanism includes a cross slider having a sliding support extending perpendicular to the first rotary axis and receiving the drive pin either directly or by a sliding block having a bearing receiving the pin. The cross slider is axially guided to move in an axial direction perpendicular to the first rotary axis and to the extension of the sliding support. The driven shaft is coupled to the cross slider by a pivotable crank arm, thereby converting a rotary motion of the drive shaft into a reciprocating motion of the driven shaft.

Abstract: Disclosed is a forced neutral return device for an automated manual transmission forcibly operating a shift cylinder of a pneumatic pressure actuator for the automated manual transmission to return shift neutral position including an air injection passage forcibly injecting outside air into the inside of the shift cylinder and a valve assembly for opening and closing the air injection passage. It is possible to easily return neutral position when the neutral of the automated manual transmission is required.
