Abstract: Exemplary system and method embodiments may include real-time monitoring data regarding administration of a health-related procedure to a recipient patient which is posted to a patient data record that has restricted read/write access. In some instances the monitoring data is processed to determine compliance or non-compliance based on comparison of the health-related procedure with a predetermined benchmark standard. Exemplary aspects of the monitoring data transmitted and/or received via one or more communication links may include updated confirmation of a patient identifier and verification of an updated parameter regarding administration of the health-related procedure.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed providing a database comprising a compendium of at least one of patient treatment history; orthodontic therapies, orthodontic information and diagnostics; employing a data mining technique for interrogating said database for generating an output data stream, the output data stream correlating a patient malocclusion with an orthodontic treatment; and applying the output data stream to improve a dental appliance or a dental appliance usage.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method and system that addresses the need for utilization analysis and performance evaluation of providers in a health care organization. The health care data comprising health plan information of consumers, providers, claims, and hospitals is collected, translated, and organized in a structured relational format and stored in standard tables. The organized health care data is analyzed by calculating consumer statistics for a health plan using the health plan information of the consumers. The claims of the consumers are processed to classify the claims based on age, gender, disease, and comorbid conditions of the consumers. A plurality of costs of the health care organization is determined using one or more of the health plan information. The performance of the providers is assessed using the determined plurality of costs. The providers comprising primary care physicians are analyzed based on entire population of the associated consumers.

Abstract: Beneficiary successor planning is performed by the examination of beneficiary data from a new benefits request and determining available succession benefit plans. The successor planning includes re-using existing beneficiary data associated with the request as well as determining the current requested benefits plan. From this information, the successor planning includes generating successor benefit plans which can re-use the beneficiary information that is available and may also indicate triggering events that, when these events occur, would render the successor plan in effect. Through this planning, manual data entry is reduced and the successor benefit plans are automatically generated.

Abstract: Methods of the present invention are designed to offer insurance to lessees of vehicles to cover up front, out-of-pocket lease expenses in the event of a total loss, e.g., theft, and preferably include steps performed by a vehicle leasing dealer as well as steps performed by one or more participating insurers. The steps are preferably performed with the aid of computing devices which are in communication. When the lease is prepared, the relevant information about the lease and the lessee is submitted by the lease dealer to the participating insurers. The insurers determine the cost of supplemental insurance based on this information and, if the cost is acceptable, offer insurance coverage to the lessee.

Abstract: A system for remotely monitoring an individual. The system includes a server system for generating a script program from a set of queries. The script program is executable by a remote apparatus that displays information and/or a set of queries to the individual through a user interface. Responses to the queries that are entered through the user interface together with individual identification information are sent from the remote apparatus to the server system across a communication network. The server system also includes an automated answering service for providing a series of questions from a stored set of questions for an individual at the remote apparatus to respond to, storing responses to each provided question in the series of questions and providing a service based on the individual's response to the questions.

Abstract: A method for healthcare collaboration that includes granting access, across a network, to a portion of a personal health history (PHH) account associated with a patient, wherein access is granted to a healthcare provider and controlled by the patient, submitting healthcare data to the portion of the PHH account based on a health service received by the patient from the healthcare provider, and transfer the healthcare data for review.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present system and method relate generally to standardized electronic communications in a healthcare setting. Certain embodiments of the system include a healthcare information acquisition and management system capable of using information that conforms to an industry standard format for information transfer, an order scheduling system capable of managing information flow within the healthcare setting, and a gateway system interconnecting the healthcare information acquisition and management system and the order scheduling system. In certain embodiments, the gateway system provides for a transfer of nonconforming information between the order scheduling system and the healthcare information acquisition and management system.

Abstract: A method for automatically and iteratively updating patient encounter reports based on recognized patterns of occurrences. A patient's information is obtained prior to a visit to a healthcare facility. This information is compared to a set of guidelines. The result is a preliminary patient encounter report that may be presented to a physician as well as act as a preset trigger to generate financial transactions. The physician can edit the report due to his own preferences and the updated report automatically sent to a rules engine that examines the edits, on a physician, healthcare facility, and patient level and determines if changes to the existing guidelines need to be made. The new guidelines are sent to a predictor module so that upon subsequent visits by patients, new guidelines will appear on the preliminary patient encounter summary report along with other learned administrative and financial transactions within the system.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method which allows a prospective insured to make an informed decision on healthcare insurance or a specific health care management decision by using a current medical profile to assist in their selection. Based on past medical care, as obtained from payor data, a number of different plans, each having different providers, different deductibles, different maximums, different reimbursement policies, etc., a person can make an informed decision. When a family has different payors for different family members, a proper blend of payors can be more easily selected since the payors (or a single payor) has a medical profile of each family member and also has information on providers in the network, prescription policies, deductibles, maximums, etc.

Abstract: A patient-interactive health care management system provides means for healthcare services rendered by a physician to a patient to be confirmed by the patient immediately after the healthcare services are rendered. The patient is provided the ability to verify the accuracy of an invoice for the rendered services/goods and provide an assessment of the rendered services/goods. In an example embodiment, the patient provides this information via an information station located at the healthcare facility in which the healthcare services/goods are rendered. The information gathered from the patient is provided to the party responsible for paying for the rendered healthcare services/goods. In an example embodiment, the paying party compares the patient provided information with the invoice received from the healthcare provider to assess the accuracy of the invoice.

A user interface system for presenting medication dosage and treatment information includes a display processor for providing data representing a single display image. The single display image presents information identifying treatment received by a patient and treatment scheduled to be received by the patient together with a timeline. The single display image also presents information identifying cumulative dosage of a medication received by a patient and an associated date the cumulative dosage is received by the patient. A command processor initiates presentation of the single display image in response to user command.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for facilitating placement of health care order entry is provided. The method includes receiving input indicative of a desired healthcare order. The order has certain terms therein that are normalized. The method also finds possible order matches for the normalized terms, and calculates a rough score for the possible order matches. The method refines the rough score with a rough score adjustment, and then ranks the found possible order matches from the most-likely to match the desired order to the least-likely based upon the refined rough score. These possible order matches can then be displayed to the user for selection.
