  • Patent number: 5174671
Abstract: A printing device including a print hammer having a noise dampener for use with an impact printer mechanism. The print hammer has a significant mass for impacting a character pad against an ink ribbon, paper and a platen. In a first embodiment the print hammer includes an acoustic noise dampening layer interposed between a mass weight and the hammer face which carries the anvil that impacts during printing. In other embodiments the print hammer is formed in two parts. One part having a weighted mass and the other part being pivotally coupled to the printer mechanism. The two parts are structurally joined together by a noise dampening member. Transmission of acoustic noise during impact printing through the hammer is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5172990
Abstract: The improved structures of the push-button key of keyboard are characterized in that the upper housing panel of keyboard comprises a plurality of partitioned sections where the push-button keys are installed, and that a key barrel of a predetermined height is set up at the center of each of the partitioned sections. The barrel wall comprises two slide keys positioned correspondingly to two slide key seats of the push-button key. The hooking means are arranged in the partitioned section at a predetermined distance from the key barrel. The stability of up-and-down movement of the push-button key is ensured by virtue of a coordinated action of slide key and slide key seats. The hooking means serve to confine the movement of the push-button key and to prevent the push-button key from being detached easily.

  • Patent number: 5167187
Abstract: A throw-on and throw-off device for a blanket cylinder in the printing unit of an offset press is provided wherein the blanket cylinder is mounted at both its ends in eccentric bushings and the pivoting throw-on/throw-off movement of the bushings is produced by a toggle-like linkage. Two parallel double-acting fluid pressure cylinders are connected by way of their piston rods to a cross link which is pivoted to one of the links of the toggle linkage. The two pressure cylinders can be individually supplied with compressed air either consecutively or simultaneously so that, in the first case, precise sequential throw-on of the blanket cylinder on the plate cylinder and subsequently on the impression cylinder can be achieved and, in the latter case, there can be a very rapid throw-off of the blanket cylinder from both the impression cylinder and the plate cylinder.
