Abstract: A process for producing pictorial labels representing content of a composition of food, the process including the following steps: obtaining nutritional data for a composition of food, the nutritional data representing a quantity of a nutrient in the composition; defining a pictorial image representing a standard for daily human consumption of the nutrient; defining an area representing the quantity; and printing a label having the pictorial image and the respective area, to form a pictorial comparison of the quantity of the nutrient in the composition with the standard.
Abstract: A method of making an index tab label assembly using a label having a coating that facilitates printing on the label. Each label is made out of a polyester film having a pressure-sensitive adhesive attached to one side of the film and a coating comprising aluminum oxide, resin chips, methyl ethyl ketone, and toluene, applied to the other side of the sheet. The coating provides good anchorage for toner, abrasive resistance for writing, and electrostatic properties that facilitate printing when using laser or xerographic equipment. The labels are die cut from a thin sheet of film attached to a backing sheet by the pressure sensitive adhesive. Top, bottom and vertical strips of the thin sheet of film remain on the backing sheet after die cutting to facilitate passing the labels and backing sheet through a printing device, by preventing jamming as the assembly passes through the device. Indicia are printed on the labels by sending the labels and backing sheet through the printing device.

Abstract: A method of producing a decorative plate with a three-dimensional configuration. The method includes the steps of preparing a substrate with a release paper on it, cutting the release paper bonded substrate to form slits of a predetermined configuration, preparing an adhesive core by bonding a release paper leaf and cutting the adhesive core into a smaller size relative to the configured formed by the slits, peeling off the release paper and placing the adhesive core on the peeled-off place, peeling off the release paper leaf from the adhesive core and bonding a decorative cloth, thereto cutting the decorative cloth along the predetermined configuration of slits and pushing the peripheral ends of the cloth into the slits.
Abstract: A conveying mechanism, particularly useful with a printed-circuit board laminator, in which the board is conveyed by several conveyor rollers having a small gap against several guide members, such as rollers, to accommodate the board and prevent its warping. A sliding device aligns the board as it is transported by the rollers.
Abstract: Apparatus and method for forming seals, such as composite seals in rubber/metal or other materials, includes supplying a raw elastomeric mixture in the form of a suitably shaped extrusion, and optionally a metal or other material insert, to respective loading and a possibly metal or other material insert are supplied to respective loading stations of a transfer machine; the machine is provided with a plurality of carriers each composed of at least two pivoted leaves joined in book-like fashion and each carrying a respective mould half, respective spring presses movable on the machine together with the said carriers, and cam means for holding the said carriers open at the loading stations; after cleaning of the mould halves and spraying of the upper mould half with a release agent a said insert is deposited between the mould halves by means of manipulators able to self-center themselves with respect to each carrier and then a blank of raw mixture obtained by slicing the extrusion is deposited between the mould
