Abstract: A solvent blend cleaner useful for reflux cleaning of chemical manufacturing equipment, including that used in manufacturing pharmaceuticals, comprises a blend of environmentally friendly and safe solvents selected on the basis of specific criteria, such as vapor pressure, vapor density, boiling point, specific heat, and heat of vaporization, among other things; achieves excellent cleaning even upon further dilution with water; and avoids the disadvantages associated with the use of conventional commodity solvents in reflux cleaning methods. Desired solvency, cleaning and wetting properties of the inventive formulations in use can be achieved through blending of solvents having the selected criteria. Additives, such as surfactants, can be added to enhance cleaning and lower solvent requirements.
Abstract: The invention provides an aqueous bleaching solution for substrate treatment. The aqueous bleaching solution features a source of oxidant and a plurality of optically functional nanoparticles. The optically functional nanoparticles are nanoparticles in the range of about 0.1 nanometers to about 400 nanometers in size. The aqueous bleaching solution may optionally include one or more an oxidant-stable surfactants and optionally, one or more oxidant-stable polymers, and adjuncts. The optically functional nanoparticles are extremely stable in the aqueous bleaching solution and remain substantially suspended in the aqueous bleaching solution due to their extremely small size despite having an average density greater than that of the bleaching solution.

Abstract: This invention relates to a liquid or soft-solid personal cleansing composition that utilises the detergency properties of new materials which are more efficient, more inexpensive and are an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional soaps or synthetic surfactants. It more particularly relates to a cleansing composition in liquid, gel or cream formats. The present invention provides for a personal cleansing composition comprising (i) 1 to 50% of treated clay particles; and (ii) a cosmetically acceptable base; wherein said treated clay particles are asymmetric 1:1 or 2:1:1 clay particles having alternating tetrahedral and octahedral sheets terminating with a tetrahedral sheet at one external surface plane and an octahedral sheet at another external surface plane, with a fatty acid of carbon chain length 10 to 22 attached to coordinating cation on one of said exterior surface planes.
Abstract: An aerosol product comprises a foaming concentrate composition that comprises a surfactant and particulate material having a particle size of at least about 100 ?m. The foaming concentrate composition and propellant are contained in a package comprising a container and a powder valve comprising an orifice having an orifice diameter of at least about 660 ?m. Preferably, a ratio of the maximum particle size of the particulate material to the orifice diameter of the orifice is less than about 0.75.

Abstract: A cleaning composition that can discharge the color of blood, menstrual fluids, or other organic stains is provided. In particular, the present invention achieves a balance between control of unwanted liquid spreading by lateral wicking on a stained textile fabric to lessen the size of wet spots and maintaining the cleaning efficacy of the composition by means of specific kinds of thickening agents. The composition includes an oxidizing agent such as peroxides, a cell-lysing agent, a chelating agent, an antioxidant, a thickener, and other optional ingredients that are selectively employed to achieve an aqueous based composition that exhibits good shelf stability and stain removal properties. The thickening agent may include a cellulosic or clay material, starch, gum, fatty acid, fatty alcohol, hydrophilic colloidal particles, polyoxyethylene glycol or polyoxyethylene glycol derivatives including fatty acid esters and ethers, or a combination thereof.
