  • Patent number: 7387485
Abstract: Storage library systems and methods of operating and assembling library systems are provided. The storage library system may include a stationary support member having a first axis and a cartridge transport assembly. The cartridge transport assembly includes a cartridge retrieving mechanism configured to retrieve a removable media cartridge, said cartridge transport assembly being coupled to the support member, wherein the cartridge retrieving mechanism is positionable in four degrees of freedom. The method of operating a tape library may include transmitting instruction signals to a robotics controller disposed on a cartridge transport assembly, translating the cartridge transport assembly along a stationary support member, and positioning the cartridge retrieving mechanism in four degrees of freedom relative to the stationary support member.

  • Patent number: 7055876
Abstract: A bag for carrying boxes-shaped objects, preferably pizza boxes (15, 16), includes a rectangular bottom wall portion (1) side wall portions (3, 5) attached to the base wall portion (1) and handles (7) at opposite side wall portions (3). It is significant for the bag that two of the side wall portions (3, 5) constitute main side wall portions (3) that are opposite each other and extend along an entire edge of the bottom wall portion (1), and that at least two of the side wall portions constitute partial side wall portions (5) that extend only along a part of an edge of the bottom wall portion (1).

  • Patent number: 6884019
Abstract: A conveying arm of the invention includes a first pivotable shaft connected to a first arm which is also pivotably connected to a third arm having an intermediate pivotable portion. The third arm is also pivotably connected to a fifth arm which is also pivotably connected to a seventh arm which has a holding portion for an object to be conveyed. The conveying arm also includes a second pivotable shaft connected to a second arm which is also pivotably connected to a fourth arm having an intermediate pivotable portion. The fourth arm is also pivotably connected to a sixth arm which is also pivotably connected to the seventh arm. With respect to both the third and fourth arms, a line linking one-side end portion to an intermediate pivotable portion is substantially perpendicular to a line linking the other-side end portion to the intermediate pivotable portion.

  • Patent number: 6866465
Abstract: Wheels, endless treads, or articulating legs powered by a first drive mechanism support a chassis for movement along a support surface over which are spread one or more regular or irregular shaped objects. A transversely extending, forwardly opening receptacle is mounted to the chassis for receiving and holding the objects. The receptacle is movable by a second drive mechanism about a substantially horizontal axis between a lowered collecting position and a raised dumping position for dispensing collected objects into a collection bin. Working together a pair of sweeper gates mounted at opposite ends of the receptacle can be rotated by a third drive mechanism about respective vertical axes between fully open and fully closed positions. The sweeper gates entrap and pull objects into the receptacle when they are within a predetermined proximity of the receptacle. A remote control allows an operator to control the first, second and third drive mechanisms.
