Abstract: A waste container (1) with a foot operated lid control device comprising a frontal rod (10) and a rear rod (11) of pivotally connecting the lid to the waste container, the lid (2) performing a swinging movement of 90° during both the opening and closing thereof, the lid control device preferably exercising an overall control during both opening and closing of the lid when being activated via discreet acts of exertion of pressure upon a pedal (5) of a foot operated lever (3). A safety enhancing feature of a compression spring (18) mounted onto the rear rod (11) is provided for a decelerated return of lid (2) during a predetermined final angular displacement thereof in the direction of closure. The waste container further includes means of securing the lid (2) at the fully opened condition to facilitate mechanical waste collection operations.

Abstract: A container and closure combination according to one embodiment of the present invention includes, as part of the closure, a tamper-evident band. The container includes a neck portion defining a dispensing opening and including an A diameter stop. The tamper-evident closure includes a closure body and the tamper-evident band is connected to the closure body by a plurality of frangible elements. A plurality of locking tabs are included as part of the tamper-evident band and are constructed and arranged to abut up against the A diameter stop upon retrograde rotation of the closure body from the container neck. The tamper-evident band further includes a radially inwardly extending ridge that is constructed and arranged to prevent repositioning of a plurality of the locking tabs to an orientation wherein the plurality of locking tabs would avoid abutment with the A diameter stop.
Abstract: A collapsible box, including a bottom, top and first and second opposing endwalls, and first and second opposed sidewalls connecting the bottom and top of the box on opposing sides of the box. Each of the sidewalls have a top sidewall panel attached by a top hinge to the top and a bottom sidewall panel attached by a bottom hinge to the bottom. The top and bottom sidewall panels are attached together along adjacent edges by a center hinge, whereby the top and bottom sidewalls are pivotally-moveable relative to each other and the top and bottom between a erect position and a collapsed position. A catch member is carried on each end of at least one of the top and bottom sidewall panels proximate an extended pivot axis of the center hinge. A complementary catch member is carried on opposing side edges of the first and second endwalls for mating with the respective catch members of the first and second sidewalls to latch the box in the erect position.
