  • Patent number: 6520390
Abstract: An adjustable sling system provides a quick release fitting which enables a sling system to transition from a close to the body quick fire position to an away from the body aiming position. The adjustable sling system incorporates a first end having a first attachment fitting carried closer to the forward grip of a rifle having a first portion of the first end attached to an extended rubber core web surrounded section. A release clip has a first end supported by a tension ring which is supported along a length of webbing extending from the first portion, and includes a riveted connection to the web strap and reinforcement plate as it extends from the first end. The slope in the direction of capture is calculated with respect to the force of the spring action to insure that the close body position is maintained absent a deliberate forward aiming motion.

  • Patent number: 6513689
Abstract: The invention relates to a motorbike transport case (TC) comprising a base part (1), arranged to be detachably fitted to a motorbike or a carrier plate (3) mounted on a motorbike; a lid part (2) hinged to the base part (1); a retaining member (10) arranged to hold the lid part (2) to the base part (1) and to release the lid part (2) from the base part (1); and a control mechanism for bringing the retaining member (10) from the first position to the second position. Inadvertent closing may result in the retaining member (10) still not holding the lid part (2) to the base part (1). Therefore, it is an object to provide a motorbike transport case which obviates a user's negligence during closing of the transport case. To this end, the control mechanism limits the movement of the retaining member (10) so that the retaining member (10) can be brought to the closing position only in such a manner that the retaining member (10) will actually hold the lid part (2) to the base part (1).

  • Patent number: 6481605
Abstract: The invention relates to a detachable motorbike transport case (TC) comprising a bottom shell (1) and a top shell (2) hinged to the bottom shell (1). A locking mechanism (12a, 8, 31, 32, 39, 39a), preferably operable by a key (12), is arranged to selectively lock the top shell (2) to the bottom shell (1). A handle (18) is articulated to the transport case (TC) such as to be pivotable between a retracted position (FIG. 4) and a projecting position (FIG. 9). In order to enhance the functionality, comfort and safety of the motorbike transport case, the locking mechanism comprises retaining means (11, 41) for retaining the handle (18) in the retracted position thereof, and the locking mechanism can assume a release state (90°) in which the retaining means (11, 41) release the handle (18) from the retracted position. In this manner, the handle (18) cannot move inadvertently to its projecting position and the locked handle (18) cannot be moved to its projecting position by an unauthorized person.

  • Patent number: 6478204
Abstract: Known covers, for example for receptacles in automobiles, have drawbacks in that they require several components in addition to the depositing receptacle and/or require additional reception space clearly exceeding the dimensions of the deposition receptacle for opening, and/or cannot be installed if only limited installation space is available in the depth or width direction, and/or the cover does not present sufficient sturdiness during use. The cover (2) of the invention is to eliminate these drawbacks as a whole and moreover be characterized by low costs per unit, low components weight and an appealing exterior.

  • Patent number: 6467662
Abstract: An article loading roller mechanism is disclosed. The loading roller permits one person to load or unload heavy articles such as ladders, pipes, lumber, canoes or kayaks. The roller is arranged in a fixed position so that the top of the roller is slightly below the top of the rear cross bar of the vehicle rack. The roller can be removably attached to a rear cross bar of a vehicle rack system by a clamping mechanism. The roller may be covered in part by a pliable scratch-resistant material. An article is loaded by placing a first end of the article onto the roller. The second end of the article is lifted, maintained at an angle such that the article does not touch the vehicle rack nor the vehicle, and is pushed toward the front cross bar of the vehicle rack. The roller reduces the loading friction and facilitates loading with a minimum of effort and time. When an article is in place on the vehicle rack front and rear cross bars, additional articles can be loaded in the same manner.
