Abstract: A rotary milking parlor controlled that uses a set of sensors generating sensor signals that determine whether or not an entity is located at a hazardous position of the rotary milking parlor, and a central control unit, where each sensor in the set of sensors generates first and second independent signals, the first and second signals conveyed separately via respective first and second signal lines to the central control unit, and the rotary milking parlor controlled to be operated only if both the first and second signals of all sensors in the set of sensors indicate that no entity is deemed to be located at a hazardous position.
Abstract: An embodiment of the novel and inventive vertical hydroponic system comprises a double-sided system, each side having two sets of double-door tile panels. Each door is mounted on hinges attached at either the right or left sides of an external support frame with the doors opening out from the middle. Each door in this embodiment may support a 6×4 array of novel and inventive tiles, each tile arranged with two columns of 3 pot supports, each such tile capable of supporting 6 grow pots, for a total of 144 grow pots per door. In this embodiment all four doors can support up to 576 grow pots. However, an infinite number of tile variations are possible with the 2×3 array being just one. The doors can be opened during the growth cycle without disconnecting or interrupting the irrigation components which allows for fast and easy harvesting and maintenance. A submersible pump and its control electronics are mounted in the support framework so the system is self-contained.

Abstract: A system for vaccinating swine according to one embodiment includes a housing having an open first end and an open opposite second end. The housing has a pair of side walls that are angled and non-parallel to one another such that at the second end only a single piglet can exit at one time. The system also includes a vaccination station for individually vaccinating piglets. The vaccination station is located between the pair of side walls in a region thereof that is sized to only permit one piglet to stand between the side walls. The vaccination station includes at least one sensor that detects the presence of the one piglet within the vaccination station and at least one spray nozzle positioned within the vaccination station such that a vaccine dose discharged therefrom is directed upwardly into facial areas of the piglet effectively.

Abstract: A home aquaponics grow bed having a hydroponic growing bed with a removable filter component, a depression in the hydroponic growing bed, a removable lid that houses plant and/or plants, and a port and/or hole for allowing water to flow out of the invention and into the fish tank. The grow bed attaches to standard fish tank aquariums converting the fish tank aquariums into a home aquaponics gardening kit. The grow bed enables a user to grow fresh aquaponics herbs, microgreens, medicinal plants, and vegetables in their home using a freshwater aquarium.

Abstract: A storage apparatus for a pet collar and a pet leash wearable by a pet may be described as an annular sheath that includes an inner base component, and first and second walls that, together with the inner base component, define a channel in which a collar for a pet, and an attached leash, can be stored. Particular embodiments provide an improved apparatus that is snag-free, provides for convenient and facile storage (of collar and leash) and facile re-storage of an extended/removed leash. Side walls may be elastically biased towards each other to help secure a stored collar (and leash) within a channel of the sheath. Particular embodiments may include, inter alia, collar unbuckling facilitators and/or a band located at a sheath separation site.
Abstract: A container for holding edible material is bowl-shaped and capable of maintaining the edible material held therein while an animal is consuming such edible material. Simply stated, in the preferred embodiment, the bowl resembles a cereal bowl bottom with an inverted cereal bowl top; with the top having a central opening. The container includes an inward and upwardly extending, smooth walled circular access aperture which assists an animal in consuming edible material by directing such edible material into a mouth and onto the tongue of the animal while preventing ears of the animal from coming into contact with the food in the container and ensuring food does not accidentally escape the bowl while the animal is licking the inside of the cavity. The container also includes a base that maintains the container in a stable and stationary position.
Abstract: A dog toy assembly includes an elongated stick with a toy attachment on an end. A toy is attached to the toy attachment. By holding and manipulating the stick during play, a user obtains leverage to accurately and quickly control the toy. The toy attachment may be removably attached to the stick, may be rotatable, and may include loops, hooks, concave sections, and rings. A locking sleeve may be included to keep the toy attached. The stick may include a handle and may be flexible. A leg strap including an eyelet through which the stick passes may be worn by the user to provide a pivot point and allow one-handed play while seated. Door mounts, floor mounts, seat mounts, and support racks include stick holders to give the user a break while the dog continues to play. The toy attachment and toy itself may be fully chewable and removable.
