  • Patent number: 10764208
Abstract: A distributed switch architecture supports very high bandwidth applications. For instance, the distributed switch architecture may be implemented for cloud networks. The architecture scales by organizing traffic management components into tiled structures with distributed buffering. The tile structures are replicated and interconnected to perform transfers from ingress to egress using an interconnect bandwidth scheduling algorithm. Bandwidth scaling may be achieved by adding more tiles to achieve higher bandwidth. The interconnect in the architecture may be swapped out depending on implementation parameters, e.g., physical efficiency.

  • Patent number: 10727933
Abstract: Disclosed is a satellite communication system that allocates bandwidth to maximize the capacity of the communication system while providing service to geographical areas having different demands. A smaller portion of the frequency spectrum can be allocated for subscriber beams that supply service to low demand areas. A larger portion of the frequency spectrum can be provided to subscriber beams that provide access to high demand areas. Allocation of bandwidth can be determined by the amount of demand in low demand areas versus the amount of demand in high demand areas. High demand gateways are physically located in low demand subscriber beams, while low demand gateways are physically located in high demand subscriber beams, which prevents interference.

  • Patent number: 10681573
Abstract: A system described herein may provide a mechanism for identifying unique sources of interference in a wireless telecommunication network. A unique noise signature, associated with a particular source of radio frequency (“RF”) interference, may be identified by detecting physical resource blocks (“PRBs”), in a sector, that exhibit excessive interference, as compared to surrounding PRBs. The unique noise signature may be detected across multiple sectors, and a location of the interference source may be determined. Corrective action may be taken once an interference source is detected, such as by ceasing to utilize, or by reducing the utilization of, affected PRBs.

  • Patent number: 10680922
Abstract: A communication control apparatus connected to a content-oriented network includes a transmitter, a receiver, a memory, and a processor. The transmitter transmits an interest packet requesting a plurality of pieces of content. The receiver receives a first data packet including (i) a first piece of content, which is one of the pieces of content, and (ii) first PIT information representing a name of a second piece of content, which is another of the pieces of content and which has not been transmitted from a transmission source. The memory stores a transmission PIT in which names of the pieces of content are registered. The processor registers, in response to transmission of the interest packet, the names of the pieces of content registered in the transmission PIT, and deletes, in response to reception of the first data packet, a name of the first piece of content from the transmission PIT.

  • Patent number: 10499283
Abstract: An example method for reducing data communications includes receiving, at a data hub, a first set of messages from a first device. Each message of the first set includes a value. The method also includes sending one or more messages of the first set to one or more devices. The method further includes receiving a second set of messages from a second device. Each message of the second set indicates whether a state change occurred in the second device for one or more values included in the first set. The method also includes computing a value interval based on the one or more values associated with the first set. Values within the value interval were indicated in the second set as causing a state change in the second device. The method further includes configuring the first device to transmit messages for values within the value interval.

  • Patent number: 10499351
Abstract: A controller having access to channel information associated with a neighboring access point (AP) may communicate a mask to a served user equipment (UE). The mask may specify transmission parameters for an uplink transmission between the served UE and a serving AP such that a successful decoding probability of the uplink transmission at the neighboring AP exceeds a threshold. The mask may specify a maximum MCS level for the uplink transmission, a minimum transmit power level for the uplink transmission, and/or a precoder constraint for the uplink transmission that produces constructive interference at a spatial location of the neighboring AP. This may enable the neighboring AP to isolate the uplink transmission from uplink wireless signals using an interference cancellation technique, e.g., successive interference cancellation (SIC) techniques.

  • Patent number: 10492223
Abstract: In wireless communications, an access point may decrement multiple backoff counters. Each backoff counter may be associated with a respective access function. A first access function may be associated with downlink transmission of data of a first access category. A second access function may be associated with downlink transmission of a trigger frame for facilitating uplink multi-user transmission. The AP may transmit at least one of a first downlink frame or a trigger frame based at least on the decremented backoff timer associated with the first and second access functions. A station may receive the first downlink frame or the trigger frame. If the trigger frame is received, the station may transmit a second frame to the AP based on an indication of an access category contained in the trigger frame. Other methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
