  • Patent number: 10327213
Abstract: An apparatus for determining symbol timing in a communication system is provided. The apparatus includes a memory communicatively coupled to at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to receive a first signal that includes a preamble sent at a first sampling rate with a first modulation through a channel and a data frame sent at a second sampling rate with a second modulation through the channel. The preamble includes a received code sequence, and the data frame includes a plurality of data symbols. The at least one processor is configured to compute a second signal that represents an estimate of an equivalent channel response using at least one of a known code sequence and the received first signal, down-sample the second signal and compute signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratios at a plurality of candidate timing offsets, and determine a symbol timing based on a particular timing offset associated with one of the computed signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratios.

  • Patent number: 10257117
Abstract: A distributed switch architecture supports very high bandwidth applications. For instance, the distributed switch architecture may be implemented for cloud networks. The architecture scales by organizing traffic management components into tiled structures with distributed buffering. The tile structures are replicated and interconnected to perform transfers from ingress to egress using an interconnect bandwidth scheduling algorithm. Bandwidth scaling may be achieved by adding more tiles to achieve higher bandwidth. The interconnect in the architecture may be swapped out depending on implementation parameters, e.g., physical efficiency.

  • Patent number: 8194617
Abstract: An apparatus and method for increasing efficiency of data packet transmission comprising receiving a TCA message and a new pilot signal; determining if the TCA message includes at least one scheduler tag; performing one of the following: determining if there are other pilot signals associated with the at least one scheduler tag or determining if the new pilot signal is in a softer handoff with a member of an active set; and performing one of the following: associating the new pilot signal to the at least one scheduler tag or creating a new scheduler group and associating the new pilot signal with it. In one aspect, one of the following additional steps is performed: determining if all the other pilot signals are newly added to the at least one scheduler tag or determining if at least one of the other pilot signals is associated with the active set.
