  • Patent number: 5171218
Abstract: An arterial cannula which includes a diverting side hole which simultaneously perfuses blood to the body and the lower extremity. Two barbs on the cannula exterior position the diverting hole just inside the blood vessel and prevent the back wall of the blood vessel from blocking the diverting hole. A transparent flash chamber on the proximal end of the cannula provides a visual indication of the entrance of the diverting side hole into the blood vessel. When the diverting hole enters the blood vessel, blood immediately fills the flash chamber.

  • Patent number: 4819357
Abstract: A display device of the matrix type utilizes coincident current selection of display elements by the provision of row conductors (R) activating row electromagnets (D) and column conductors (C) activating column electromagnets (H). Each display element includes a rotatable vane (S) which is stable in open and closed positions and a permanent magnet (M) co-operates with the electromagnet (D) to urge the vane (S) into the appropriate position.A clutch member in the form of a bar (L) extending from the vane (S) contacts the pole face of an electromagnetic (H) which, when activated, serves to inhibit movement of the vane irrespective of activation of the row electromagnet (D). Thus by pulsing the display row-by-row, the state of the display elements can be set by selective inhibiting of movement in coincident manner of the appropriate vanes (S) by pulsing the respective column conductors.

  • Patent number: 4230454
Abstract: A dentistry kit for tooth extraction consisting of a vise-type grip member having a joint member engaged by a forked end of a lever whose convexly curved fulcrum surface rests against a planar base plate located on teeth adjacent to the extracted tooth. The connection between the grip member and the lever is thus of the type generally resembling an angularly loose swivel joint. The grip member has two hemispherical tips, for engaging correspondingly shaped indentations drilled in the buccal and lingual side of the tooth. The tool set combines a virtually ultimate simplicity of the elements, resulting in an easy cleaning and disinfection, with an improved operation mainly due to the fact that the extreme pull force can be delicately gauged, while the direction of the force can also be changed by displacing the point of contact between the fulcrum and the base plate.
