Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for monitoring UE reachability in a wireless communication system. A method for monitoring UE reachability may include receiving, by a Mobility Management Entity, a monitoring request message for UE reachability including a maximum response time from a Home Subscriber Server, detecting, by the MME, the UE reachability if it is expected that paging is able to be transmitted to UE when extended Discontinuous Reception is applied to the UE, and sending, by the MME, a UE reachability notification to a Service Capability Exposure Function before a next paging occasion of the UE, wherein the maximum response time may indicate a time during which the UE maintains a reachable state so that downlink data is reliably delivered to the UE, and wherein an occasion when the UE reachability notification is transmitted may be determined by taking into consideration the maximum response time.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for maintaining a valid radio channel list that may be updated dynamically without user intervention based on changes in the device location and the availability of an antenna are disclosed herein. For example, a device capable of performing a background low power search that initiates a new search based on changes in the geographic location of the device. This search may run based on the state of the radio and geographic location changes making sure the radio channels are updated in the background based on the geographic location with no user intervention required.

Abstract: Provided is a communication method and apparatus using network slicing. A communication method of a communication apparatus performing communication with a user equipment receives a predetermined request from the user equipment, selects a single network slice instance to be allocated to the user equipment from among a plurality of network slice instances in the communication apparatus in response to the request, selects a single network function instance to be allocated to the user equipment from among a plurality of network function instances included in the selected network slice instance. The network slice instance is in an instantiated form of a network slice that includes at least one network function and resource for providing a network service having a predetermined capability and characteristic to the user equipment.

Abstract: Off channel scanning on workgroup bridge (WGB) devices for fast roaming may be provided. First, it may be determined, by a first WGB, that a second WGB is not off-channel. The second WGB may be peered with the first WGB. Next, the first WGB may perform channel scanning in response to determining that the second WGB is not off-channel. The first WGB may then prioritize a first WGB channel list based on results from the channel scanning performed by the first WGB. Next, the first WGB may roam while the second WGB in not off-channel, from a first access point to a second access point on a channel with the highest priority in the first WGB channel list.

Abstract: A provisioning system for enabling a mobile communication device to operate as a financial presentation device (FPD) presentable to providers of goods or service is provided. The provisioning system relies on a transaction processing system that normally routes authorization requests from merchants to issuers of FPDs for purposes of authorizing FPD transactions. The transaction processing system stores security keys of all issuers in order to validate transaction data sent from the merchants. The provisioning system monitors authorization requests routed through the transaction processing system and retrieves an authorization request of a financial transaction initiated with a particular FPD. The provisioning system then transmits the FPD data contained in the retrieved authorization request and the security key stored in the transaction processing system to a secure memory element of the mobile communication device to enable the mobile communication device to operate as a FPD.

Abstract: A method that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining, by a system comprising a processor, interference information associated with one or more physical resource blocks (PRBs) from each base station of a plurality of base stations. Further, the method can include determining, by the system, from the interference information a strategy for improving a PRB utilization of a first base station of the plurality of base stations. In addition, the method can include conveying, by the system, the strategy to at least one base station of the plurality of base stations. Other embodiments are disclosed.

The first interface is configured to communicate with the wireless device using a wired communication technique. The apparatus includes a second interface of the accessory. The second interface is configured to communicate with the wireless device using a wireless communication technique. The apparatus also includes a data storage device of the accessory. The apparatus further includes a controller of the accessory. The controller is coupled to the first interface, to the second interface, and to the data storage device. The controller is configured to activate the first interface in response to a message received via the second interface.

Abstract: A caller initiates, via a caller device, a voice call with a callee, which is received at a callee computing device. The callee computing device audibly announces the voice call, and the callee can respond to the announcement with a voice input that indicates to accept the voice call and that the voice call will be public at the callee computing device. In response, the callee computing device answers the voice call and mutes voice communication from the caller to the callee. A pre-generated message is played back to the caller via the voice call, notifying the caller that the voice call will be public at the callee computing device. After playing back the pre-generated message, the callee computing device un-mutes voice communication from the caller to the callee. The voice call then proceeds with the caller and callee being able to talk to one another.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for sending video content to a mobile device is described. According to one embodiment, a computer-implemented method comprising embedding a widget in a website, the widget generating a form. The form is provided when a user visits the website so as to execute the widget. The form includes a first field to enter a recipient phone number, a send selector, and one or more non-visible fields, the non-visible fields containing a content service provider identifier, and a video URL. A data packet is generated with the widget when the user selects the send selector, the data packet including the recipient phone number, the video URL, and the content service provider identifier. An encoded version of the data packet is sent to the content service provider and a video link message is sent to the recipient phone number.

Abstract: Techniques for projection via a device are described. According to various implementations, techniques described herein enable a locked host device to output data projected from another device while the host device remains in a locked state. In at least some implementations, device context for a host device (locked or unlocked) can be considered in determining whether to broadcast availability to receive projected content.

Abstract: Systems and methods for open social networks configured for a location or a region. The social networks are arranged accessible to all users via an interactive map or a website link. In one aspect, user numbers or post quantities are displayed beside network icons on a map. In another aspect, posts generated by local and remote users are presented in separate windows. In yet another aspect, social networks are searchable via keywords or category in a map setting. In yet another aspect, for a given period of time, a user continuously receives content presented at a social network which has the most users. Moreover, social networks which have popular virtual reality or augmented reality content are selected and presented upon request.

The method includes, responsive to receipt of the identification information, sending, from the server to the retail store display, first display data for a first display to be sent to a first display device of the retail store display. The first display identifies an item and includes first information associated with the item. The item is located proximate to the retail store display. The method also includes, responsive to receipt of the identification information, sending, from the server to the mobile communication device, second display data for a second display to be sent to a second display device of the mobile communication device. The second display identifies the item and includes second information associated with the item. The second information is different than the first information.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a method for sharing enriched information associated with a call. The method includes receiving message including enriched information from a sender device, where the enriched information is received before establishing a call, after establishing a call, or after terminating a call. Further, the method includes determining a correlation between the enriched information with the call. Further, the method includes displaying the enriched information based on the correlation.

Abstract: A method and system for customizing a mobile application running on a mobile communication device of a user. In one implementation, the method includes providing the mobile application to the mobile communication device of the user, the mobile application having a generic platform; determining a special interest group (SIG) that is affiliated with the user; and customizing the generic platform of the mobile application based on information specific to the special interest group (SIG) that is affiliated with the user.

Abstract: A short message service (SMS) message processing method for a mobile terminal and a mobile terminal, where an SMS message Favorites bar is added to an SMS message interaction interface such that when sending or receiving an SMS message, a user can tap the SMS message Favorites bar on a current user SMS message interaction interface. The method includes receiving a first touch operation on a Favorites button, obtaining a Favorite SMS message from storage space of the mobile terminal according to the first touch operation, and displaying the obtained Favorite SMS message on a touchscreen.

Abstract: Methods and systems that record the location of a user and transmit targeted content to a user based upon their current and past location information. A network is configured to include a server programmed with a database of targeted content, a database of location information, a database of user information, a database searching algorithm, and a wireless communication system capable of communicating with the user's mobile device. The location of the mobile device is ascertained and recorded. The location information is analyzed to determine the routes taken by the user, businesses visited by the user, and other behaviors of the user. Targeted content is sent to the mobile device of the user or exposure to physical content is tracked. Whether the user visits the physical locations associated with the content is monitored. Detailed conversion tracking is provided to producers of targeted content and business owners.

The electronic apparatus comprises a speaker; a microphone; a communicator configured to communicate with an external electronic apparatus; and a processor configured to: activate the microphone in response to receiving information indicating that the external electronic apparatus is in an initial setting state through the communicator, the information being broadcasted by the external electronic apparatus via a first wireless communication method, in response to receiving a sound output by the external electronic apparatus through the microphone, generate an inverted sound by inverting a phase of the received sound, output the inverted sound through the speaker such that the sound output by the external electronic apparatus is offset by the inverted sound, and obtain address information of the external electronic apparatus for wireless communication with the external electronic apparatus from the sound received through the microphone.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method for a station (STA) to transmit a frame in a wireless local area network system includes setting a TXOP duration field and a UL flag and transmitting a high efficiency physical layer protocol data unit (HE PPDU) including the TXOP duration field and the UL flag. In this case, the STA sets the UL flag to a first value corresponding to uplink if the HE PPDU is addressed to an access point (AP). When the TXOP duration field is set to a special value other than a TXOP duration value for configuring a network allocation vector and the HE PPDU corresponds to a single user PPDU carrying an ready-to-send frame or a clear-to-send frame, the STA may set the UL flag to a second value corresponding to downlink, even if the HE PPDU is addressed to the AP.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses an antenna component, an electronic device and an antenna controlling method. The antenna component includes: multiple antenna structures, wherein at least one antenna structure acts as a master antenna, and at least one antenna structure acts as a diversity antenna; a control switch connected with the antenna structures; a radio frequency module, coupled to the antenna structures through the control switch; wherein the control switch is arranged to, according to transmit power of the at least one antenna structure acting as the master antenna and receive power of the at least one antenna structure acting as the diversity antenna, switch the at least one antenna structure acting as the master antenna to a diversity antenna, and switch the at least one antenna structure acting as the diversity antenna to a master antenna.

Abstract: A mobile device has at least one grip handle disposed on the back surface of the mobile device. The grip handle comprises at least one grip surface that enables a user to grasp the mobile device and use it with one hand of the user. Various embodiments of the invention are disclosed.
