  • Patent number: 9730090
Abstract: A method of reporting UE measurement state information in RLF report is provided. A UE performs radio measurements of a serving cell and neighbor cells in a mobile communication network. The UE evaluates a measurement reporting criteria and attempts to access the network to deliver a measurement report if the criteria is met. The UE then detects a radio link failure or a handover failure event and reconnects to the network by performing RRC reestablishment or RRC establishment. Finally, the UE transmits a failure event report to the network. The failure event report comprises UE measurement state information corresponds to the failure event. The UE measurement state information helps the network to determine whether to apply corrective actions to mitigate the failure.

  • Patent number: 9686194
Abstract: One embodiment provides a system that forwards a packet with a hierarchically structured variable-length identifier (HSVLI) in a network. An HSVLI indicates a piece of content and indicates a hierarchical structure of contiguous components ordered from a most general level to a most specific level. The length of the HSVLI is not fixed. During operation, the system receives a packet which contains an interest for a piece of content with an HSVLI. Subsequently, the system determines forwarding information for the HSVLI based on one or more of: knowledge of content which matches the HSVLI, a forwarding policy, and contextual information about the network. Next, the system configures a forwarding engine with the forwarding information. The system then forwards the packet based on the forwarding information.

  • Patent number: 9681326
Abstract: Technology for conditional hybrid automatic retransmission re-quest (HARQ) mapping for carrier aggregation (CA) is disclosed. One method can include a user equipment (UE) determining when a subframe for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission is configured for downlink semi-persistent scheduling (SPS). The subframe configured for downlink SPS can generate a first condition. The UE can generate HARQ-ACK states for the first condition for a HARQ bundling window with discontinuous transmission (DTX) padding for a secondary HARQ bundling window size for a secondary cell (SCell) and a primary HARQ bundling window size for a primary cell (PCell). The UE can generate HARQ-ACK states for a second condition for the HARQ bundling window with DTX padding including a DTX padding exception. The second condition can include conditions not covered by the first condition. The DTC padding exception can generate a set of HARQ-ACK states to uniquely define each padded HARQ-ACK state.

  • Patent number: 9673883
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for implementing channel measurement are disclosed in the present invention. The method includes: determining an antenna port subset, which is required to be measured, for a UE according to current state information of the user equipment UE; and informing the UE to perform channel measurement for the subset of antenna ports that is required to be measured and feed back channel state information. Through the present invention, when the state information of the UE meets a certain condition, the UE measures only the reference signals of a part of antenna ports, and feeds back channel state information for this part of antenna ports. Therefore, the overhead generated by the feedback of the UE to the channel state information is reduced.

  • Patent number: 9674864
Abstract: A User Equipment, UE, of a cellular communication system transmits scheduling assistance data to a base station comprising a base station scheduler which schedules uplink packet data. The scheduling assistance data relates to uplink packet data transmission from the UE. The UE comprises a channel controller which is operable to cause the scheduling assistance data to be transmitted from the UE to the base station in a first physical resource of an uplink air interface. The first physical resource is not managed by the base station based scheduler. The scheduling assistance data may specifically be transmitted in a first transport channel multiplexed with other transport channels on a physical resource. The transport channels may be individually optimized and may have different termination points and transmission reliabilities.
