  • Patent number: 9610562
Abstract: Preparation of a molecularly imprinted carbon is described. The molecularly imprinted carbon has a surface that is imprinted on the molecular level for a specific template molecule of interest, making it highly selective for analytes corresponding to at least a portion of the template molecule. Devices including the molecularly imprinted carbon and their use in methods of detecting analytes are also described. As an example, dibutyl butylphosphonate (DBBP), a surrogate for chemical warfare agents, was used as a template molecule. Electrospun molecularly imprinted SU-8 and pyrolyzed polymer (PP) solid-phase microextraction (SPME) devices were prepared; their ability to preferentially extract DBBP from an aqueous matrix, with and without interferences present, was evaluated via comparison with non-imprinted SU-8 and PP SPME fibers. The electrospun devices demonstrated a higher selectivity for DBBP, as evidenced by their extraction time profiles.

  • Patent number: 9597855
Abstract: A composite stretch material which is composed of a first nonwoven fabric sheet part and a second nonwoven fabric sheet part and elastic members disposed therebetween. In each nonwoven fabric sheet part, concave parts and convex parts are formed in the thickness direction. The concave and convex parts formed alternately repeatedly in a first direction define convex-concave rows. The convex-concave rows are separated from each other by non-shaped regions which contain neither concave parts nor convex parts and which extend along the first direction. The non-shaped regions are joined to each other with the elastic member therebetween. The convex parts of the first nonwoven fabric sheet part enter respectively into the concave parts of the second nonwoven fabric sheet part, while the convex parts of the second nonwoven fabric sheet enter respectively into the concave parts of the first nonwoven fabric sheet part.

  • Patent number: 9593450
Abstract: Nonwoven double layer industrial textiles comprising a plurality of interconnected selectively slit and profiled folded panels formed from suitable sheet or film materials. Each panel includes two fold regions having an array of slots and seaming loops. The folded panel is formed by folding each fold region toward the panel body, thereby providing seam loops and seam loop receiving openings, which are used to connect adjacent folded panels in a given layer of the textile. Two such layers are bonded together in overlapping relation such that outside free edges of any of the fold regions are returned and sealed interior to the double layer. Further panels composed of heat or wear resistant material can be connected to lateral outside edges of panels forming the textile.

  • Patent number: 9587351
Abstract: Non-woven double layer industrial textiles comprising a plurality of interconnected selectively slit and profiled panels formed from suitable sheet or film materials. Each panel includes two fold regions at each end. Each fold region has an array of slots and strips which form hem loops and hem loop-receiving openings by folding each region beneath and toward the panel body. The panel further includes two seam regions at a central portion of the panel, which when folded, provide seam loops and seam loop receiving openings. Outside free edges of the end fold regions are returned and sealed interior to the double layer so as to avoid fraying of free ends. Each seam region of the folded panel is interconnectable with the corresponding seam region of adjacent similar folded panels by means of a seam connecting member. Additional panels composed of heat- or wear-resistant material can be connected to lateral outside edges of panels forming the textile.

  • Patent number: 9587696
Abstract: In a dry friction material and a method for manufacturing the same, to maintain a content of glass fibers low on a whole dry friction material to apply a hole boring for caulking assembly with high strength and high stiffness at a part to be subjected to the hole boring. A part (glass-rich part 30) to be subjected to the hole boring is pressed at a higher pressure than a part not to be subjected to the hole boring in a press-shaping step by providing a rib 21 protruding toward a shaped body side on a part of press dies 20A, 20B corresponding to the part to be subjected to the hole boring. Thereby, only a compounded rubber 4 is pushed outward and only the glass-rich part 30 has an increase in a content of glass fibers 3. Thereby, strength that can withstand the hole boring is obtained. Accordingly, a dry friction material 1 with a bored hole 2 bored without generating a failure in the hole boring can be manufactured.
