Patent number: 6171490Abstract: A water purifier capable of magnetizing water and adding ceramic components into the magnetized water. The water is magnetized by a rotating permanent magnet, such that its molecular structure is changed into the hexagonal ring structure, and, the dissolved oxygen content of water is increased by passing through a plurality of micro holes or fine grooves on the inside surface of a ceramic filter. Also, mineral components disposed in the double wall of the ceramic filter are added to the water passing through it. Accordingly, the water may be converted into condition suitable to the human body.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1999Date of Patent: January 9, 2001Inventor: Kil Ho Kim

Patent number: 6164809Abstract: A counter-flow asphalt plant with a separately controlled and operated dryer 50 and mixer 52 in which virgin aggregate, recycle material and liquid asphalt are mixed to produce an asphaltic composition. The dryer 50 is rotated by a variable dryer drive 58 about a central longitudinal dryer axis disposed at a dryer angle of declination. Within the dryer 50, aggregates are dried and heated by heat radiation and a hot gas stream generated at a burner head 112 of a combustion assembly 106 positioned inside the downstream end of the dryer 50. The downstream end of the dryer 50 is inserted within the first end of the mixer 52 for delivery of the heated aggregate. The mixer 52 is carried on a tiltable frame 54 and is rotated by a variable mixer drive 88 about a central longitudinal mixer axis disposed at a mixer angle of declination.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1998Date of Patent: December 26, 2000Inventor: Michael R. Patent number: 6164812Abstract: The electric food processor has a housing in which there is disposed an electric motor with a motor shaft. The motor shaft, via a gear mechanism, drives three or more concentric output drives at different rotational speeds. The common axis of rotation of the output drives is spaced a distance from the motor shaft. Working tools are selectively coupled to the output drives and the working tools rotate in a working container which is placed on the housing. In order to expand the possible uses of the food processor, the fastest output drive rotates at a speed that is suitable for a mixing tool, and the gear mechanism has at least two sets of input gear teeth that are rotatably mounted independently of each other, so that the fastest output drive can be driven out of direct engagement with the slower output drives.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 1998Date of Patent: December 26, 2000Assignee: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbHInventors: Peter Brezovnik, Aleksander Oblak, Helmut Augustin

Patent number: 6146530Abstract: Particles of paint overspray present in floating, and in dispersed form, as well as in submerged and coagulated form are removed from an aqueous turbid liquid. The dispersed and submerged particles of paint overspray form sediment and the sediment is then removed. The sediment is allowed to settle out of a quiescent, turbid liquid onto the bottom of a first tank, whereas the floating particles remain on the surface of the turbid liquid. The sediment is flushed into a second tank by lowering the surface level of the turbid liquid and is then concentrated in this second tank. The surface level of the turbid liquid is then raised and the turbid liquid is allowed to overflow across a flow edge in such a way that the floating particles of the paint overspray are floated off. The turbid liquid, such as turbid water that has been cleansed is drained off.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1998Date of Patent: November 14, 2000Assignee: Olt Oberflaechen-, Luft-und Trocknugstechnik GmbHInventor: Heinz-Georg Vollmer

Patent number: 6117317Abstract: A chromatography column having at least one central slurry valve positioned at either the top cell assembly and/or the bottom cell assembly. The central slurry valves have a pneumatically actuated valve sleeve which can be shifted to create three different flow configurations. One flow configuration allows for the simultaneous cleaning in place of the flow path used to charge the column with chromatography media and the separate processing of fluid through the chromatography media. The other flow configurations permit the reslurrying and removal of chromatography media from the column, and the subsequent repacking of the column with fresh chromatography media without disassembling the column.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1997Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: Millipore Investment Holdings LimitedInventors: Nicola Jane Dickson, Neil Frazer

Patent number: 6036871Abstract: The invention relates to a process and apparatus for the separation of heavier from lighter fractions in aqueous slurries by means of centrifugal force. A slurry is made to spin in a separation chamber under influence of differential pressure. The differential pressure, which can amount to several bars, is generated by means of a pressure increasing stage in the form of a transport rotor device (20) which acts in conjunction with a stator arrangement (22). This pressure boosting stage takes place immediately upstream of an inlet of the slurry into the separation chamber (4). Rotor blades of a cyclone rotor device (10) and rotor blades of the transport rotor device (20) can be mounted on the same rotary shaft (5). The separation of floatable fractions in aqueous slurries can be enhanced by presence of micro gas bubbles introduced into the separation chamber (4).Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1998Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Fan Separator GmbHInventor: Dietrich Eichler
