Abstract: A method for transmitting data in a sensor network, which comprises at least one sensor node and a central processor, is provided. The at least one sensor node repeatedly transmits a status message comprising at least one unique identifier associated with the sensor node and a data value determined by the sensor node to the central processor. Furthermore, at least one secure value range message is provided to the central processor for the at least one sensor node, which message is valid for a particular time span and comprises at least bounds for valid data values. The value contained in the status message is further processed by the central processor only if the data value is within the bounds indicated in the value range message.

Abstract: A method for managing services and resources across a plurality of deployment architectures is described. The method begins by defining a profile corresponding to a deployment architecture. Each profile is defined according to a meta-model. The meta model comprises a service object representing a service that is accessible over a network, resource objects representing resources consumed by the service, inter-relationships between the service and resources, inter-relationships between the resources. For each profile, a topology is generated based on the profile. The topology includes the resources used to perform a task.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods, apparatuses, computer program products, and systems for handling an audio messaging service (AMS) chat session. A method according to an example embodiment includes receiving a first AMS chat request, causing a second AMS chat request that is associated with an existing AMS chat session to be transmitted, and receiving an AMS chat answer in response to the second AMS chat request, the AMS chat request being configured to allow a mobile communication terminal to enter the existing AMS chat session.

Abstract: The performance of a content package can be influenced by a variety of factors, at least some of which can be identified by analyzing user interaction events. The user interaction events can be analyzed to generate data representative of the current performance of the content package. Based on the performance data, one or more modifications can be identified and recommended to the content package owner. A modification can include a change in file size, a change in encoding quality, a change in a component, and/or a change in a presentation rule.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for integrating web services into a content item are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving a request for web services from a publisher, retrieving the web services file that corresponds to the web services requested from the location provided, identifying the web services contained in the web services file, retrieving a content item from the publisher, integrating the content item and the web services defined by the web services file to create augmented content, receiving a request for augmented content, and providing the augmented content. Abstract: Mode sensitive networking is provided to allow mode specific communications using a mobile device. If a device has an established secured connection and an application is running in work mode, packets are routed through the secure connection. If the device has an established secured connection but an application is running in personal mode, packets are routed through an alternate connection. Secured connections may be established by using privileged applications. A device and associated applications may have access to different servers, sites, and destinations based on a current mode.

Abstract: Techniques for tracking an individual across two or more cameras are provided. The techniques include detecting an image of one or more individuals in each of two or more cameras, tracking each of the one or more individuals in a field of view in each of the two or more cameras, applying a set of one or more attribute detectors to each of the one or more individuals being tracked by the two or more cameras, and using the set of one or more attribute detectors to match an individual tracked in one of the two or more cameras with an individual tracked in one or more other cameras of the two or more cameras.

Abstract: The formation of a wireless device group for use in the shared resource computing environment involves establishing a wireless communication connection between a host wireless interface device and each of one or more dependent wireless interface devices, in which each dependent wireless interface devices is configured to not directly communicate with a computing device. Another wireless communication connection is established between the host wireless interface device and the computing device when the host wireless interface device is within a host connection distance of the computing device.

Abstract: A method for monitoring a plurality of rack systems is provided, which includes the following steps. The rack systems are provided, in which each rack system includes an integrated management module (IMM) and a plurality of servers. The IMM is communicatively connected to the servers in each rack system and manages and controls the servers. The rack systems are distributed into at least one rack group, and one of the IMMs in each rack group is selected to serve as a primary IMM, in which the IMMs in each rack group are communicatively connected to each other. The primary IMM monitors other IMMs than the primary IMM in the corresponding rack group. When an anomaly occurs in one of the other IMMs, the primary IMM sends a warning message including the abnormal IMM.

Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms are provided for inviting users to follow records in an on-demand database service environment. In some embodiments, a message is received at a server. The message includes an identification of a record stored in a database. The identified record is selected for inviting one or more users to follow updates to the record. The updates are capable of being stored as feed items in one or more feed tables in the database. The feed items are capable of being published in an information feed displayed on a display device. A received message can also include an identification of one or more users to invite to follow updates to the identified record in the on-demand service environment. An invitation message including an indication of the identified record is generated and sent to the identified users.

These mechanisms and methods for creating mobile custom views with filtering for tenants of an on-demand database service can enable embodiments to allow tenants to create and push instructions for generating user-defined views to mobile devices, etc. The ability of embodiments to provide such feature may allow tenants to efficiently and effectively create interfaces for mobile devices.

Abstract: A motion-capture system is provided. The motion-capture system includes a host computing system and a plurality of motion-capture cameras that are operatively coupled with the host computing system. Each of the motion-capture cameras is disposed in a different location and orientation relative to a motion-capture space and includes a marker-tracking optical filter to provide a marker-tracking mode and thereby relatively enhance light from markers on a moving body in the motion-capture space. One or more of the motion-capture cameras is remotely controllable to selectively interchange the marker-tracking optical filter with a scene-view optical component, so as to selectively transition the motion-capture camera between the marker-tracking mode and a scene mode, in which light from the markers is less enhanced than in the marker-tracking mode.

Abstract: The system provides a method and apparatus for sorting and displaying information from a BBS. The system provides a method of sorting and presenting messages from a BBS in a way so that the relationship in message threads can be easily observed and related messages can be identified. The system provides a way to view messages and map message threads in two and three dimensions so that the content of messages can be easily reviewed and the relationship between messages can be seen and followed. The system allows a user to enter into a message thread at any point and to then produce a visualization of the related threads and messages associated with each individual message. The system provides interfaces for either a linear or threaded BBS or even a hybrid BBS that is some combination of linear and threaded.

Abstract: An application programming interface (API) supporting server and key based networking is described. In an embodiment, the API receives either a key or a server address from a service running on a server in a direct-connect topology and returns data which identifies suitable next hops for transmission of a packet of data which has a destination of the received server address or of a server address which is encoded within the received key. In another embodiment, the key also encodes information specifying alternative server addresses for use in the event that the original server is unreachable. This information may also be used to define servers for replication of the key. A further embodiment describes a method of queuing packets for transmission against multiple links, where the packet is transmitted on the first available link and at this time is removed from the queues for the other links.

Abstract: A method, system, computer program product, and related business methods for phased rollout of an upgraded version of a web-based business information system are described. URLs associated with client requests remain the same even where the target subscriber accounts have been upgraded. Client requests for both upgraded and non-upgraded accounts are received by a common set of web servers. Client requests representing external entry points are trapped, and the receiving web server accesses a login router database to determine whether the target subscriber account is upgraded or non-upgraded, and then transfers the request to an appropriately-versioned application server. Application server sets are mapped to database sets according to system version, allowing the upgraded system database schema to be substantially different than the non-upgraded database schema. An early adopter program business method leveraging the abilities of such web-based business information system is also described.
