  • Patent number: 8982785
Abstract: A wireless access point device configured to serve wireless client devices in a wireless network monitors transmissions sent by direct clients capable of forming ad hoc networks with one or more other direct clients. Profile data is stored for each detected direct client. The profile data indicates device type and services of the direct client, as well as potentially other information. The wireless access point receives from a direct client a request for information concerning one or more other direct clients, and sends a response to the direct client containing information for other direct clients based on the stored profile data.

  • Patent number: 8937858
Abstract: A multicast router is coupled with a multicast enabled layer 2 device that is coupled with a source of multicast data traffic for multicast groups. Responsive to determining that the amount of bandwidth currently being attributed as being used by the subscriber exceeds its allowed bandwidth limit due to oversubscription of multicast groups, the multicast router switches from periodically transmitting multicast membership general query messages to the multicast hosts of the subscriber, to transmitting one or more multicast membership group-specific query messages to one or more multicast hosts of the subscriber for a subset of the subscribed multicast groups to impede the subscribed multicast groups that are not part of the subset from being refreshed to cause the multicast data traffic for those multicast groups from being transmitted on the access network to the multicast hosts of the subscriber.

  • Patent number: 8885468
Abstract: A mobile communication device wirelessly connected to a service network with a default Packet Data Protocol (PDP) context active for an Access Point Name (APN) is provided. In the mobile communication device, a wireless module performs wireless transmissions and receptions to and from a service network, and a controller module transmits a request message for activating a secondary PDP context associated with the APN to the service network via the wireless module. Also, the controller module receives a rejection message indicating no resource available or congestion for the APN and a value of a back-off timer from the service network via the wireless module, and retransmits the request message to the service network via the wireless module in response to the value of the back-off timer being zero.

  • Patent number: 8675526
Abstract: A wireless communication system includes a terminal and a base station for forming a plurality of sectors and receiving an uplink subframe from said terminal positioned in any of said plurality of sectors, according to an OFDMA/TDD scheme. Here, in said uplink subframe, said base station allocates a predetermined subchannel among subchannels usable by said base station to two predetermined sectors among said plurality of sectors in said uplink subframe, according to time division.

  • Patent number: 8670327
Abstract: A relay device includes a switch for switching a combination of an input for receiving traffic data and an output for sending the traffic data; a congestion information processing section for obtaining congestion information indicating a degree of congestion of each of a plurality of traffics from an adjacent relay device, and congestion information of each traffic in the relay device; a congestion information comparison section for finding information on a congestion level which quantitatively indicates difficulty of flowing of each traffic on a transmission route based on the congestion information obtained from the adjacent relay device and the congestion information of the relay device; a transmission scheduling adjustment section for assigning a transmission band of a bus to each traffic based on the congestion level; and a switch assignment section for shifting the switch based on a result of the assignment of the transmission band of the bus.

  • Patent number: 8605753
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of performing Pseudo-random-Noise (PN) quadrature covering for transmitting data via an access channel. Such method is achieved by receiving a 42-bit access long code mask MIACMAC and a 42-bit access long code mask MQACMAC from an upper layer; generating an MI mask and an MQ mask for PN quadrature covering by using certain bits of an assigned channel number for the access channel and by performing exclusive OR operations on certain bits of the received access long code mask MIACMAC and performing exclusive OR operations on certain bits of the received access long code mask MQACMAC; and transmitting signals via the access channel based on the generated 12-bit MI mask and the generated 12-bit MQ mask.

  • Patent number: 8452875
Abstract: A resource allocation apparatus 100 is an apparatus that allocates resource utilization amounts of m consolidation subject servers Si to be consolidated to n consolidation destination servers (n<m). An allocation subject list S contains the resource utilization amount of each consolidation subject server Si. The resource allocation apparatus 100 calculates a deviation value of the resource utilization amount of each consolidation subject server Si in the allocation subject list S, and, based on the deviation value and a priority of each resource, calculates a total value with consideration given to the priority, and sorts the consolidation subject servers Si in descending order of the total value. An allocation unit 120 uses a calculated dispersion value to execute an allocation process on the consolidation subject servers Si sequentially starting with the one with the greatest total value.
