  • Patent number: 10798931
Abstract: A fish bite alert system. A Y-shaped fishing rod holder is provided having two upper portions spaced apart from one another and a vertical post having a proximal end and a distal end, the vertical post extending from a center location of the Y-shaped fishing rod holder and an optional, removable cone disposed proximate the distal end of the vertical post. An electrical speaker unit is mounted to the Y-shaped fishing rod holder. An LED is attached to each of the upper portions of the fishing rod holder. A retractable, spring-loaded trigger assembly is supported by the Y-shaped fishing rod holder and electrically connected to the power supply via a momentary switch. In another embodiment, a detachable ladder assembly supports the fishing rod holder and includes a folding ladder base with extendable support members having distal ends and a plurality of extension arms operatively connect thereto.

  • Patent number: 10765074
Abstract: A system for cultivating a crop includes a guide and a plurality of gutters. Each gutter is provided to contain a plurality of crop units and the guide is provided to guide the gutters in a first direction and to gradually increase the distance between adjacent gutters in said direction so that the number of crop units per square metre in the area substantially decreases. The area comprises first and second zones, and each gutter in the first zone contains crop units with a first intermediate distance and each gutter in the second zone contains crop units with a second intermediate distance. The first intermediate distance is considerably smaller than the second intermediate distance and the distance between gutters in the first zone at the position of a transition from the first zone to the second zone is considerably greater than the distance between gutters in the second zone.

  • Patent number: 10767682
Abstract: Frangible fasteners with flexible connectors for unmanned aircraft, and associated systems and methods are disclosed. A representative aircraft includes a fuselage portion, a wing portion, a winglet carried by the wing portion, and a frangible fastener coupling the winglet portion to the wing portion. The frangible fastener can include an outer body with a first portion in contact with the wing portion, a second portion in contact with the winglet portion, and a frangible portion between the first and second portions. A flexible member is positioned at least partially within the outer body and is connected to the first portion so as to extend through and out of the second portion. A stop element is carried by the flexible member.

  • Patent number: 10694721
Abstract: An apparatus and method for feeding bees is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a fluid tray member, a sheet, and a regulating valve. The fluid tray member is configured to hold a fluid for feeding the bees. The sheet is detachably attached on the fluid tray member via a magnetic strip. The regulating valve attached to the sheet is configured to maintain the level of the fluid. The regulating valve is attached to the sheet via a fastener. The sheet further comprises an inlet tube, a plurality of cavities, and a handle enable a user to position the apparatus to a desired location. The fluid is received via the inlet tube into the fluid tray member. The sheet provides a flat surface around the cavities to support each of the bees while feeding the fluid.

  • Patent number: 10637135
Abstract: Aircraft radome apparatuses and methods are described. In some examples, a radome is to be mounted on an aircraft. In some examples, the radome includes an outer mold line having a closure angle. In some examples, the closure angle is configured to reduce a footprint of the radome. In some examples, the closure angle is also configured to reduce a likelihood of separated airflow from occurring proximate a trailing portion of the radome during a flight of the aircraft. In some examples, the radome is to be mounted on the aircraft at a location that reduces a rate of change of a transverse cross-sectional area of the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 10624282
Abstract: The tray (10) of the present invention is for use in hydroponics. The tray has a first end and a second end having a longitudinal axis defined therebetween. An inlet (20) is provided at the first end for receiving nutrient and an outlet (30) is provided at the second end for draining nutrient solution. A levee system comprising paddle assemblies (40) extending orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the tray is disposed between the first end and second end of the tray. The paddle assemblies are adapted to partition the tray to define compartments and to impede the downstream flow of nutrient solution from the first end to the second end. The paddle assemblies are adjustable so as regulate depth of nutrient solution in each compartment to enable optimal irrigation of the plants cultivated in each compartment. To complete a hydroponic system, the tray of the present invention connects to at least one reservoir for holding nutrient solution.
